Roxon 450 means that your strokes will land as long as your racket angle is above 45 degrees, thus a Euro stroke works nicely. As you close your blade angle, some freakish quantum mechanics take over and you've got yourself an anti-spin rubber.
I hope the 500 doesn't mean 50 degrees! But I suppose it's possible since it has a harder sponge. |

Yes, the sponge hardness is indicated by the number, I was merely using it as a parody to express my disdain for its lack of brush looping ability |

I hear they going to release Roxon 1800. Your blade angle should be 180 degree when you hit the ball.. |

After I played some Roxon's for a while I assume 450 / 500 stands for the amount of money you have to invest per season in buying new Roxons. Never had a rubber which lost so quick its good surface...

maybe I suck, but I am enjoying roxon 450, I am more of a "loop drive" player anyway so it is working, but I am having trouble blocking super spinny brush loops...I have to accurately hit those, so far CAN NOT block them. otherwise, I am loving roxon 450 2.3 have it both sides now... we will see how long it lasts...

How long it last Dauntless? I start to play half 1 hour only, the surface seems has tiny chips. smaller than full stop mark.

When you have said brush looping, where are you hitting on the ball? At the top with 0 degree?

Sadly I must say that it really does not last that long. I try to take good care, but after about 3 months all of the juice is gone out of the rubber. Probably it last about 6 weeks... but your mileage may vary. There is no way Roxon 450 is 45 degree, maybe 45 degrees before the inbuilt effect. I mean the rubber is fairly soft. It is not super hard or anything. 38-40 degree Chinese rubber is WAY harder than Roxon. |

Is the roxon 500 durability also the same as 450?
Thanks for your reply, Dauntless, I'll see how long it last in humid weather.
Perhaps Xiom Zeta is more durable? How's the speed n Spin of Zeta compared to Tenergy, Pryde n Roxon?

@varghesep: yes, but I didn't even get close to 0 degree (maybe 30 or 20 degrees) when the 450 started to skid and the ball consequently dropping. I must say, even now, I've only seen Zeta in its first week of use being able to brush-loop, that rubber bites like nothing else, but unfortunately wears out too quickly. @haggisv: the "0 degree" loop, is the supposedly text book method of brush looping to get the ball to kick and drop on 2nd bounce. Chinese rubbers and glued Srivers (and other rubbers that bite) were really good at this. Imagine you served light backspin and your opponent has returned it carelessly with little backspin, the ball will bounce twice on your side, but the 2nd bounce will be on the endline. However the ball is rather low, this is where you need that "0 degree loop". |

Thanks geko... never heard of this term before! Unless the ball is quite high, you must need a pretty high throw to get it to make it over the net? I can imagine it being very spinny though... just like chopping at the bottom of the ball increases backspin...
