    Hello
I played in a tourney last week against a chopper,i lost 3-2,i had dificulties in putting ball back on table after his chops.
He played with an antispin rubber on BH and Tibhar Superdefence on FH.
Many of my pushes or loops were in the net:( I  play seldom against this type of players and i dont know how to treat this matches well, although im higher ranked than opp.
   Thanks

Hitting against chops has to be learned. Get some vids and watch. Try opening your blade more. It will feel like you will hit 5 feet hi but you wont.
Change your game. "Most" choppers are weak at attack. Try pushing chops back. He can't chop them. When you do get the chance to loop, try looping directly at him. That is a choppers weakest spot. Try running him in and out instead of side to side.
Best bet, a coach or vids to study.  Smile

Couple of nice loops against choppers are more than enough most of the time. Just train on looping chops properly. More upward stroke, starting just behind your knee (for FH ofcourse). Then you can mix it with dropshots, pushes, he'll eventually get out of position and give you the chances.

Playing against defenders is one of my favs. Dont make the mistake to serve with a difficult serve, most of the time you will get your own spin back because of the anti.

Generally I serve with some topspin and a lot of speed which will force the defender to bring the ball back with pace. The first ball can then be looped. If you get a good defensive ball back, just push the ball back, but only slightly; as you will get your own spin back, the ball will contain a lot of spin so let the ball just sort of bounce off your own blade. The defender needs to come in again, so play a fast loop to drive him back.

If you then keep playing this one-on-one strategy and you vary the pace and placement of the ball, especially with your loops, you will get an easier ball eventually which you should be able to finish.

+1 for that.  Draw them in & out, and unless you are very consistent loop 1 push 1.  Its tough to continuously loop at them because the spin keeps increasing on the ball every shot.

Agree, unless you are a very good looper, forget the battle loop vs. chop, you will make mistake in no time.  But I have seen a very good and consistent looper who can loop consistently until he gets the chance to kill the ball.

Agree also that it is better to draw them in and out, instead of left and right.

Yeah, the right / left game could be an advantage for the defender. Most of the people think that defenders can't attack, but you would be very surprised how many of them can overtake your attack when you spin the ball to their non-anti side.

Download and watch the 2008 Men's World match between Malong and Joo Se Hyuk.  I really like these short loops that Ma Long mixed in with his fast drives.  Very often Joo was too far away from the table and couldn't handle these short balls well.
