Just shelled out big $$$ for Tenergy05. I've got Tear Mender, Yes Paste and a Nittaku glue sheet. Which of these is the best or should I get something else? I guess the glue sheet is the easiest, but would that have adverse
effects? Just want to make sure I don't make any mistakes. |

Be careful with glue sheets. Applying them is easy. Removing them is a #&@%$.
Since I started using Tear Mender I won't go back to anything else. |

i've had good and bad experience with glue sheets. It's a one shot deal, if you mess up on the rubber, get it on a table, you are screwed.
And then, if you want to remove the rubber, the glue sheets leave lot of residue on the sponge, so it's pretty much ruined if you remove it. Tear Mender appears to be KING! |

I guess I'm biased because I'm the guy who "found" TearMender. Worse yet, I haven't used glue sheets or Yes paste. So I guess I can't really say which is best. But one good thing about using TearMender is that it is easy to remove. Or at least has been with all the rubbers I (and apparently everyone else has) tried it on. So if you have a problem, just remove the rubber and glue and glue the rubber again either with TearMender, glue sheet, Yes paste, or whatever. |

Is anyone tuning prior to the use of Tear Mender? It seems to be the same product as Free Chack.

Yes! Paste for me only because of the price. I haven't tried Tear Mender because I still have a big tub of the paste. Having said that, Yes Paste works great (on tensioned/ non-tensioned rubbers) and I haven't had any trouble with it since. I've tried chinese glue sheets, not Nittaku's; didn't like it very much.

Same here. YES paste is great. Easy to use and easy to clean up. After gluing up more than 20 times, I still have a big jar of it. If the rubber got separated from the blade because it was caught by the table or you brushed the edge against your body when you serve, just spread some water mist under the sponge, press it, and again your rubber is attached.

Yes Paste because i think you get A LOT of glue for around 18-25$ because u barely need
to use any to apply to the blade and rubber and its a huge jar of paste
that will last you for ever. Its very easy to apply after u get used to
it, and even easier to clean up. Tearmender looks like a great product
2 i just got so much Yes Paste im not going to be trying it out for a
while :P.

I have to agree, glue sheets are great and not as messy as non VOC glues. Just have to make sure the sheet sticks to the blade nicely and look out for small air bubbles. I normally let it sit for about 30 minutes under a few heavy books before putting the rubber on top. Notice that the edges tend to bump up a bit so you will have to press it down to make it all nice and even. Then put in under a heavy books again for an hour to make sure the rubber sticks well before cutting the rubber. |
