I have doubts as to how fair it is to ask players to air out thier new rubbers for a few days and to tell them that its thier responsibility to do so.
The ITTF has banned harmful VOC's right?
So why should ITTF approved rubber come with the same VOC's in them right out of the pack?
I believe the rubbers as sold should be able to pass the enez test as sold without any manipulations by the player.
What if I damage a rubber at a tournament and need a new sheet?
Remember these new rubbers now cost more than double so I'm not going to have spares, pre-aired laying around.
Either the rubber should come VOC free or the ENEZ should allow a manufacturers level of VOC.

Imho the manufacturers are the ones responsible to make sure their products pass, not the players. They should air the darn rubbers out before they ship.  They are the ones profiting from the sales and partnership with ITTF.  We as players are being rip-off AND we have to carry burden of proof at the same time.  What kind of organization is ITTF?    Confused

I don't think you'll have any voc problems with the expensive japanese and euro stuff. But, I think some of the tacky chinese stuff is loaded with chemicals

Thanks for the link but its not clear that the smell of the rubber equates to VOC's.
Raw rubber has a smell as does synthetic sponge.
Can you definitively say that a fresh Jap rubber out of the pack is VOC free?

l believe Larry at Newgy said some failed right out of package when he tested them with Enez.  No blade, just rubber.
