Right, but realistically, the marketing ad hype cost the most. The sponsorship of players like Boll and others cost us both directly and indirectly. I am sure the cost of developing new rubbers is not cheap, but they have been coming out with those products one after the other year after year to capture the $$$. I doubt the research was greatly more costly than Bryce or any of the high tune rubbers. What it boils down to is market analysis. BTY knows they can charge this much, so they do. They would make much money lowering to $40 dollars so everyone could justify the purchase on an ongoing basis.
I understand the market behind the product with some amount of intelligence, I just doubt that the cost basis and the price of the product are relative. In simpler terms, I'll tell you about a golf shop where I service their POS, computers, and network.
The owner told me that on a name brand putter that he buys for $100, he is able to sell it for $135. That is not a huge markup. Out of that, he has to pay his store's rent, his employees, insurance, etc. If this guy can sell equipment at this markup and still do business, what do you think the markup is on Tenergy? Going even further, once the product has been developed, it is simply a matter of sourcing the raw materials and making the product -- something BTY was already doing for many many years.
My point is, bottom line, they are gouging us for this new rubber. I'm not saying that they don't have costs to cover, that is obviously true... who knows they may even be losing money in the 1st year (I doubt it)... but I am not tyring to justify it one way or the other so much as to say that for a piece of rubber that is only for a short term use, it is expensive -- disproportionately expensive.

Someone on this forum was saying DHS Hurricane II National version is $79, expensive than Tenergy.
