Alright so I have a penhold paddle with rubber both sides, and its just not as sticky as when I first got it, so does anyone know where I could get something to make it sticky again? It must be legal for tournament play.

Newest edition of Spinmax....not sure if its legal or not as it does tune the rubber...but I think you can get away w/ it.  Atleast worth a try!

Don't use tacky sprays like the ones from craft stores (IE Aleene's). I did that to a premade for the hell of it and it was way too sticky. It made it the rubber incredibly dirty when playing. Spinmax is the only way to go as far as restoring and adding tackiness.

Hi,

Try veggie/olive oil, put on a layer and allow to soak in!

You can get some sponges that they use for cleaning with those sprays and cleaners and breath heavily on the rubber and then wipe it off...

If you want to get some really good cleaners you can get Butterfly Rushawa which is relatively cheap and good for rubbers.

Using olive/lamp oil helps restore grip, not tackiness. Lamp oil works better than olive oil IMO. I've heard good things about eucalyptus oil, never tried it though.

Try WD40 if the rubbers are very used. Sorry, it may not be legal.

I just spray WD40 on the rubber surface and wipe the rubber with a piece of sponge before and after play. Don't use it on a new rubber. It only works for old and used rubbers. Right, its usually used for loosening machine parts. its component is similar to rubber cleaners. Good luck and take care.

Wow that's good to know about the WD40!

I've been using water...though I've read that water from the tap is not that suitable depending on how the water is treated in that country.

I think nature is the best!

Try using water and sunlight on the rubber for a few weeks and rubber protection after that "sun bath" treatment.

This method definitely helps to make the rubber more sticky/tacky if that rubber is a chinese rubber. The above method may or may not work with japanese/german topsheet.

I thought using sunlight helped turn the rubber to antispin?
