After watching from different sites like PingSkills, VideoJug,Butterfly Training and other Chinese Videos.... I think I have a problem. When the ball bounces near my side near the baseline. It's either the ball bounces liike a medium bounce. It's hittable but when I try to drive it, it either goes to the net or I miss it. I think it's the ball I'm using (BlueShield 2 Star Ball) or that I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone know videos, books or anything that could help?

I assume you are trying to drive on the FH.
When you drive, you need to apply force to get the ball to the other side if the incoming ball does not have enough top spin.

I think I develop a bad habit. Sometimes I break my wrist and push the ball. Maybe I need a new brand of balls.

You hit trough the ball too much, probably you hold your bat too tight. Find your most comfortable grip, keep your hand and wrist relax and try to put some topspin in your hit..
Start with a backswing (position your bat lower than contact point), contact the ball and follow trough (don't stop at contact).. Start slow, try to get the feel of your strokes then gradually increase the speed and 'graze' the ball more. Any ball should be ok for counterhit.. |

I think that is better to find someone, who can see what you are doing wrong and will help you to make it correct... Until you are sure about which is the correct move of any stroke you are doing, there must be someone with you to tell you what you are doing wrong. If you don't fix it, you will develop bad habits as you said and then it will be more difficult for you to fix it... The best way is to find a coach or go to a club (if you haven't already) and tell to someone to help you...

Yes, I agree with Johnny there.. if you can find someone to help you with your strokes than it will be the best solution for you.. Try to watch players during their warmup before playing the game. You might find it useful.. |
