I swear I was watching the Olympic games when they zoom on Wang Hao paddle when he left it on the table, and I was going like 'Wow.. look at that paddle so long and wide, that's a huge blade..' If it's not custom made for him, that's the longest C-Pen blade I've ever seen. The handle looks like a Hurricane Hao to me..

Hmm, I don't think the Yasaka Offensive blade is any longer than the Hurricane Hao. I assembled a Hurricane Hao last night and tried to transfer (unsuccessfully) the Tenergy from a Ma Lin carbon over. I have both blades with me and just took some measurements. The "face" of the Ma Lin carbon is about 0.05 inch longer than the Hurricane Hao. Anything that small could just be manufacturing variance. I think the Offensive II (Ma Lin Extra Offensive) has the same size as the Ma Lin carbon so all these blades seems to have the same length. The Timo Boll Spirit-CS looks quite long but I don't own one so it could be just the angle of the picture I saw playing tricks on my eyes.

If the Ma Lin Carbon was longer, why was the transfer to a smaller Hao unsuccessful? Or was the unsuccessful transfer due to something else other than size difference? Hmm..164 length is like Jpen length. I saw 167/8 for Hurricane H-WH and Violin-C in Tak9 but I figured those can't be right, must be misprints. |

The transfer failed due to my inexperience with the Tenergy sponge's elasticity. I didn't use speed glue but yet the rubber seemed to contract a bit after peeling off the Ma Lin. The rubber could not cover the HG width-wise nicely but I thought what the heck, let's try it anyway. Then I used a metal rod to roll press the rubber like I would with a new installation. The sponge stretched quite a bit and about 0.1 inch of the rubber was sticking out in front. At that point I was afraid I would damage the rubber if I keep trying things. I gave up and re-glue the rubber back on the ML.

many blades have different lengths, but consistently yasaka offensive, offensive II, and offensive 40 (not yasaka extra offensive) comes out longest (minimum 166mm). yasaka extra offensive is designed to be tiny bit shorter as per Ma Lin's specification (compared to yasaka allround 40 where it comes from - not to be confused with yasaka offensive / offensive II / offensive 40) within yasaka blades, i have offensive, offensive II, extra offensive, extra, soft carbon, carbon, overdrive, and advance 3d, most with multiple versions (but all in penhold), so i know they do sometimes come in slightly different shapes and lengths. |

Wow! What a Yasaka blade collection. I only have the Extra 3D soft carbon, Ma Lin soft carbon, and Ma Lin carbon and I thought I have a lot of Yasaka blades. They have exactly the same size and shape so I thought all Yasaka cpen blades are of the same dimension. Thanks for the clarification. |
