Hello,
I would like to know what is the difference between 38 and 39 degrees of this rubber HAIFU WHALE II FACTORY TUNED. Could anyone explain to me what "degrees" means: more degrees - softer or harder? Thank you in advance! |

The higher the degree, the harder the sponge.

39 degrees is a bit harder, faster. 38 degree is a bit softer, a bit slower, easier to spin.

I have a 39 Whale II (black) side by side with a Tenergy (red). The Whale II 39 is a bit harder than my Tenergy. 38 should be softer..
What rubber do you use? If you come from Japanese / Euro rubbers, it is safer to go for the 38 version if you want to try the rubber. |

So it's almost time for table tennis season for me. I found out over Summer (after nearly dying) that I had no vitamin b12 left. I've been getting injections and I'm much stronger faster better than I have been in yearsso I'm looking forward to playing again. The question is, do I trade in the ever faithfull H2 blue sponge for the big Whale ? :)?. It seems like it's at least worth a try

I think its worth a try nicefrog. 38 is a nice balance between the 37 and 39.. and Its probably faster than youre used to with a higher throw but if you are just starting to play after being cold for a while then i would try it.

I'd say BW2 39 is equivalent to in between 40/41 H3 Pro #20. BW2 38 is similar to a H3 Pro #20 39 Hardness.
