I don't know who Par Gerrell is, but the game was quite interesting. I'm impressed that Par used similar backhand strategy as Timo Boll - since he is left handed, he went wide to the Ma Long's forehand using the backhand.

What was odd, is seeing slow loops instead of fast smashes that usually occur during this level of competition. The only obvious thing was that Par's forehand looked much weaker - spin, but no kill shot abilities. All his points were based on placement more than power.

yeah and because of that, Ma Long gave him almost every opening loop so ma long could have a hay day with it.

that was like watching ma long sit on that guys face and giggle. ma didnt look like he was even kind of trying, and several of his shots looked like novelty shots to get a laugh. you dont see such high control placement shots like that in the heavy topspin game usually lol

Par wasn't fast enough for Ma long, that's obvious. He was simply no match

My friend, that is true skill, when you are worse prepared than your oponent, but still are able to withstand. I'm sure Par Gerell doesn't train as much as Ma Long does; it's like Waldner beat Ma Lin in 2004

Spectacular table tennis by Par Gerrell. I'm proud for him. Losing to the world's #2 is hardly something to be ashamed of.
