SOLD 3-15-09 to a lucky player in the USA
This is the original version, not the 2008 model: I could not find it for sale anywhere... so no comparison price, but I bought mine for around $90 I think (on sale) Xiom Control 3 ALL+ Carbon Aramid ST Handle 82g Original Box Blade is in used condition. I would give it a 6or7 of 10 for looks as compared to new. (There are some noticeable dents and slight chips that absolutely do not affect play) For playability, 9.9 of 10 as compared to new. I will take pics of these dents prior to sale if there is interest. Blade was sealed with three light sprays of poly. Some Chinese rubber stamp stains on face of blade. But it is sealed from new...so can be sanded off with ultra light sanding. Edges were treated heavily with poly to protect them. Dimensions: Face: 159x150mm Handle: 100mm (28x21mm) Handle is flat not round. Thickness: 6.5mm Weight: 82g Good for topspin and ALL+ play. A little bit more like OFF- on power shots, more like ALL on Blocks. Forgiving C/A layers enlarge sweetspot and give uniformity to blade. Layers: 5ply : Outer Hinoki-C/A-Kiri-C/A-Hinoki Medium Stiff, Medium vibration, Medium Soft Feel, Medium Throw (in my opinion) This is a control blade with gears and with a softer inbuilt rubber sounds like it has been glue, satisfying cork. I have two of these, prefer to keep one at 86g with slight handle mod, but if someone really wants it I may sell both depending on how my new setup compares. Some older pics: http://gallery.mac.com/adamwitherspoon#100213&bgcolor=black&view=grid It is the one without handle mod PM for newer pics or questions. I want $65.00 USD shipped in USA. Paypal, shipped USPS priority only. |

This Xiom was once 1 of my most desired blades, partly due to the fact that our once regular contributor, Chronos's influerence n reviews, n also can't deny that it's a beautiful blade as most Xioms r. New 1's price is quite steep but nvrtheless it's a good ALL+ blade. I'm quite sure that these could find home soon. |

Thanks for the info Tiehwen. These blades are great. My coach says he wants me to use a slower setup and work on the basics... that is why I am selling one. I will most likely keep the other one with the handle modification since many players won't like that anyway. Price includes USPS priority shipping USA and I will re-do the poly with Andro Free Sealer for "free" too if desired.

In final negotiations for the 82g blade, re-sealing the blade with Andro free sealer for "free" , awaiting payment
86g blade I am most likely going to keep because it is perfectly "modded" for my grip. Just FYI: on C3 the following rubbers worked well to different effects Andro Impuls Speed, nice cork, control, and spin, but Roxon 450 was better Andro Roxon 450, amazing short game, nice crack when you really hit, less control obviously than the Impuls Speed, TSP Real, not my fav on this blade, but average Reactor Tornado, surprisingly good, lots of control, but a bit hardish feel Joola Energy GP, not as good as Roxon 450, for everything else, but for blocks was awesome Palio on Saviga from Cole, nice but not my cup of tea, although serviceable |
