I just received the Dr Neubauer Anti spin special, compliments of Varghese who was kind enough to send this one to me for free!
I glued it on to my Galaxy T-8 and am now eagerly awaiting to try it out. On a bouncing test, it feels pretty interesting, as it feels really slow, about the same speed as Hallmark Mirage, but with better reversal. Also, the sponge don't seem as weird as the Mirage sponge that deformed with each stroke. Still, impressions from bouncing a ball on the blade holds little value and I will report back with some additional info once I have played with it. Now, before people starts telling me that the T-8 is to fast to use with anti and that I should pick a different blade, I can already say that I disagree as my main set up is Dawei Wavestone along with Nittaku Best Anti and it suits my game perfect. I know that if I wanted to use the anti for pure reversal, I should go for a harder blade, but I figure this will be a good test of the rubber. Once again, a big thanks goes out to Varghese, who is now the third dealer who has been kind enough to sponsor me, despite my low level My other sponsors are Haggisv and Pingpongrob who both have sent me stuff for free before. Man, you got to love forums like this when you get good deals like that You guys are great and I really appreciate your efforts to keep my EJ:ing at bay, or perhaps it's like the drug dealers, the first one is for free since you know I'll be back for more? |

Hey man, do you live in Sweden ? Stockholm maybe ??? If in Stockholm, we can maybe play match sometimes :D ! I'd like to play with someone that uses anti spin rubber because it's rare not like offensive or allround rubber.

Sorry, I'm not in Stockholm, never even visited which I'm kind of ashamed of...
I live in the south part, Skne, so you would probably have some trouble understanding me =) If I ever decide to come to Stockholm, I'll watch AIK and then give you a call for a game or two! |

Thanks for giving this one a review Speedplay, glade Vargs was able to send you a free sheet, especially when its a premium product like the doctor.
So a even bigger thanks too Vargshep. I think anti is much less tolerant to faster blades than say pips, so T8 sounds like a good choice... I think it maybe to fast for your fh though speed. Monkey |

LOL, you know nothing is to fast for my fh =)
Yes, it was awfully nice of Varg to give me this sheet, I really appreciate it since I've made it my vision to try and compare the different anti's out there, but I simple can not afford to buy them all, especially the expensive ones like this. |

Tried to find the club, but the last history for Enskede bops that is shown is from 2006 when they played in div 4. Are you currently active in league play or are you only playing tournaments?
About the Anti spin special, I'll probably give a review of it soon, hopefully I will be able to practice with it some today. |

Finally got to try the Dr Neubauer Anti Spin Special, red.
Tried it on the Galaxy T-8 blade, with a 1.2 sponge (I think, got it from Varg, so he should know for sure). It's been added to the comparison I made between the different Anti's I have tried. http://forum.oneofakindtrading.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=4740 I feel that this is a rubber that will work best in red, as it is depending a lot on reversal and my experience with anti rubbers is that the difference between red and black can be huge. Black always seems a lot slower but less reversing. It's not even close to play like the rubbers that are now below the minimum friction level, as it is both faster and less reversing then they used to be. It still works very good for a close to the table blocking game and it feels slow enough to control even the hard loops. A strange thing with this rock hard rubber/sponge is that while it is extremely slow (almost as slow as Mirage) it still feels pretty fast when used to hit with, chop with or even when simple lifting a ball back with it. Not quite sure how they have managed to do this, but the positive thing is that it is slow enough to stay close and block everything back, then it is fast enough to hit a winner should you get the chance. It is one of the more reversing anti rubbers I have tried and creates the most wobbling balls out of all, still not quite as many as the pips used to do. It's a bit hard to handle, both because of the gears in speed, which could be an advantage but it takes some time getting used to, but also because it don't seem to be very forgiving as it requires a precise angle of the blade to do what you expect it to do. Once again, a big thanks must go to Varg for giving me this rubber for free to try out and be able to compare it with other anti rubbers I have tried. |
