This blade is 104 gr, with thickness less than 9 mm. It has large head size compared to my Kokutaku 3008.
I exchange my Schalger Carbon to get this blade. The previous owner of this blade said he bought it in 1960s. Has anybody in this forum ever seen this blade before? Is it true it's 1960's production? I need help from 1 Ply Hinoki Expert to comment about this blade Here are some of the pictures: |

Great stuff! I have never seen this nittaku logo at the back before. But a few things can gurantee that this blade is at least 20-30 years old (at least, it may be 40 and above)
1. Old hinoki blades are less than 9mm, in the 38mm ball era, the thickness of more than 9mm is actually not really ideal
2. The jttaa mark on the blade is at the side of the shoulder
3. The blade have a grip wrap that come with it (it may be removed by the original owner, there is a nail mark on the handle) old blades normally come with the grip wrap
4. Nittaku was using a black rectangular logo at the back of the blades from 1980s onwards (from what i saw on a 1982 carbon blade), this is definitely much older than that.
all in all, take good care of it! if the original case (dont think its packed in a box then) is still around, it would be great.
pm me if you decide to let go of it yeah

Yeah, I still has the grip wrap which is made of leather. I never thought it's original from the manufacturer. What is the original case look like? Is it made of plastic bag with zipper? I found this blade easier to play compared to my 3008. It's not too bouncy, easier to loop. |

Looks like a great blade. If i were you id go over the blade surface with some superfine sand paper to get the small scratches out, add a new surface and glue some rubbers on.

How to add a new surface? Do you mean by sealing it? Thanks for your suggestion |

Yeah It's Laquered by nittaku I think. I met a guy which is 69 years old, he stop playing table tennis for 40 years. Now he start playing again. He met me and he want to buy new blades, when I saw his blade, I was amazed , I asked him to trade with my blades. He chosed my sclager carbon. I have used it before, he put cheap dawei rubber on FH and 729 Fx orange sponge on BH. It's nicer compared to my 3008. Very good for looping and good control, better than my 3008 |

Vioncello is Violin with bigger headsize. with bigger cut rubber, it makes heavier total setup weight. My 80 gr FL violin feels like my 92 gr FL Vioncello. My 93 gr ST violin is stiffer though. The FL handle is bigger than Violin's, but still a bit small for big hand. But for me is ok without overgrip. I think you should try to get one, Holda |

1. I think the surface is not lacqured but is because of the many layers of glue used.
2. The grip wrap is original, i think you should attach it back.
3. Its better control and softer because its only around 8mm...
Yes i believe is in such a case, but i am not sure if theres a zipper.
For reference, a butterfly case and a tsp blade with the wrap:

That's a great find, Peter! I'm jealous as a !
I'm still trying to find a vintage Stiga blade from the seventies!
Or a Stiga Clipper from the eighties.

The butterfly blade should be at least 30 years old. The tsp one i would believe to be 25-30 years ago.
