What kind of style do you have? My suggestion would be Hurricane 3 (refered to as H3 sometimes). If you want more info on this then use the forum search. |

You will only get a choice of hardnesses if you get provincial or national versions, but these cost a fair bit more than the standard commercial versions. The other option is to go for #19 or #21 sponges.
#19 sponge is quite soft and is fairly light.
#21 sponge is harder than #19 but softer and lighter than the commercial versions.
Another option is to wait untill the new Hurricane NEO editions are released. These are meant ot be the standard H3 topsheet on a 'glue effect' sponge.

729 is different to both H3 and hadou biotech. Cannot give you proper comparison though.. |

get the 729-08. Hands down. Its super cheap but is still a competitor because of the speed it can bring. Get the ''strongly forward'' version from zeropong.com

The NEO editions are meant to be released sometime during this month, but nobody can give an accurate date.

H3 is a bad idea for ZLF unglued. It's an illogical set up, hard blade + hard rubber= hard to use. Find something softer for ZLF or get a wood blade/a softer carbon blade.

True, 729 SP Transcend is pretty fast but I felt that 729-08 was about the same. Certainly a bit faster than LKT Rapid Speed which I have right now on one of my substitute blades. And LKT RS is only mildly tacky, not like those two 729 rubbers. So it depends on whether you really require a LOT of tackiness. However, SP Transcend is supposed to be glued, it's not a no-speed-glue type of rubber. So I'd advise you to try 729-08 first. Another option would be Reactor Thunder 2.2 - also a cheap Chinese version of sg-effect rubber. You can get it from melarimsa on this forum Some advise on 729-08 and some comparisons are here http://mytabletennis.net/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=23574 http://mytabletennis.net/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=25686 http://mytabletennis.net/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=25015 http://mytabletennis.net/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=24147 |

The 729-2 is also known as the 729 FX Super but im asking about the 729 FX Super Soft. Iv been told its very soft anyway so im not interested in it anymore.
The 729 Super FX - how hard is it in comparison to H2?

REACTOR Novar, only available in red. Sticky, tacky, grippy ... call it what ever you like, but it can create spin like crazy.

Slow.. hmm... but on what blade? was it the same you used when playing with SP Transcend?
It is also possible you had the older version of 729-08 which was indeed rather slower, but the updated one (Strongly Forward) should be better... |
