Where can you buy some table tennis handle grip, similar to what Butterfly sell? Are they the only brand to do so, because I was hoping maybe Xiom and the likes had they own types - or a brand neutral grip.

Just get the Butterfly ones. They make 2 types now...one is slightly thinker and one is softer. They will be brand neutral if you just put them on with the 2 ends that have double sided tape. You dont really need to put the wrap around butterfly sticker on. That is the only cosmetic identifier of the wrap. They are very light weight and work well, especially for bulking up thinner handles. Also, out of many types of wraps I have tried....these ones do not seem to dampen the feel of the blade as much.
The Xiom ones might be the same as the Bty ones. Or you could opt to try the ones I have been wondering about at tabletennisonly.com The offer a roll that does at least 2 handles worth. There are alot of things to try if you go to any general sports store with tennis or racketball stuff. Prince makes a few good ones, but they are more heavy than the Bty ones. |

Butterfly handle grip is expensive. I have using Tennis Grip and Athletic tape. Athletic tape is very cheap and comfortable.

But have you ever used one of the bty grips? I used so many different grips/wraps......none felt or worked as good as the bty ones. Also, about $ concerns. Would you say its too expensive when you put it on a blade that is over $50? The differential costs of new blades from various sellers and shipping fees could make this point mute, especially if you put it on $100+ blades don't you think? |
