Wow. I only just recently bought a timo boll zlf instead, but felt that it was nothing amazing so I'm sticking with an acoustic. These look like they're worth a try though... :D

If I interpreted the machine translation right they will be distributed starting next month (May). Currently they can be bought in China, by ordering directly at Yinhe. Maybe they also ship abroad. I've asked my "local" reseller in Germany and am waiting for his reply.

What made you stick with the Acoustic? Can you briefly compare ZLF and Acoustic them in terms of speed, throw, and dwell time? |

I can only read the machine translation, but the post is dated Jan 5, 2011 and refers to "May next year", which should be still May 2011, because the post is dated before the Chinese New Year (Feb 3, 2011). |

I hope you are right, as I read it again and i think the "next year" refer to the EXPO which will take place in May. But I don't think they will use chinese new year as if it is the start of a year... |

Yinhe actually makes great blades and has developed/adopted own technologies for drying and cutting, so I wouldn't say those are clones. The structure of the ZL, ZLF blades are:
EDIT: I know nothing about trees, got confused between "Tong" and "Tung" Good ol' Wikipedia helped out: if Tong is Pao Tong, then indeed it's Paulownia tormentosa, more commonly known (in table tennis and in Japan) as Kiri. To make things more confused, Japanese Koto music instruments are made of Kiri , however the Koto wood is an African species (Pterygota bequaertii or Pterygota macrocarpa). The Tung tree wood used in Nittaku Acoustic is Vernicia fordii, also known as tung oil tree and the wood sometimes used as substitute to Balsa or Basswood). We should start using latin tree names for wood types and chemical compound names for fibres in blade compositions, that would be funny! My Yinhe ZLC is: Terminalia superba + Triplochiton scleroxylon + poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole) carbon graphite + Paulownia tormentosa + poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole) carbon graphite + Triplochiton scleroxylon + Terminalia superba Edited by arg0 - 04/21/2011 at 2:06am |

I don't know... I was just assuming that, since they had models which look like final already a few months ago, there was no reason to delay mass production by over 1 year. And maybe because I just want it to be this year! |

The Yinhe ZLC sounds very similar to the Innerforce ZLC.

Just a side track..
Other than Galaxy, you can try Sword. They have Gold Julong, Silver Julong and Ghost blades. All have Zylon (similiar) composites in their ply... And I've a custom made ZLC from Sword, too bad I don't have the original to compare.

The thickness is the same, but the BTY Innerforce ZLC is limba + limba + zlc + ayous + zlc + limba + limba So, besides the use of ZLC, only the outer plies are the same, unless their thickness is different. |

Hopefully this time they will produce some decent composite blade, not interstellar rocket. |

T-7 and K-3 are no interstellar rockets, and neither is V-13 I suppose. Of course, if you buy those that are classed as "fast"... Chinese fast is western OFF+!

Generally, Yinhe have somewhat displaced scale even with the all wood blades. Take for instance 896 which is announced as allround
This is a typical OFF- blade, even faster.
Yinhe 4 is declared to be a carbon blade ALL
It is definitely faster than Korbel which is an OFF blade.
Probably we have to order a DEF- blade to get a normal allround blade.
This is because Chinese players are two times faster than their Western counterpart, I suppose. Edited by Imago - 04/21/2011 at 8:04am |
