Guys, I am not particularly keen on playing with composite blades, but in the past, I found few composites that still have woody feeling (Ex: Waldner Senso Carbon, Malin Carbon, Gambler A/C, etc.). Currently, I want to experiment with Zylon blades but not sure which one to get.
Let me ask, what are the differences (in characteristics) of Zylon vs. Zylon Carbon? Which one has more woody feeling? Which one to choose between: Jun Mizutani (ZLC) vs. Boll ZLC vs. Boll ZLF ? I want to have medium fast blade (Max. Off , not Off+) , not too stiff and still has woody feeling. I know that there is Photino, but I think it will be too thick for me. Thank you. EDIT: I forgot to inform you, I am a looper both wings, close to mid-distance at most, but still need a blade that can block and hit well. |

Zylon is more wood feel compare with Zylon + carbon. For zylon I prefer ZLF and Zylon + carbon is ZLC.
Other thing is Zylon will fit for looper and Zylon + carbon for looper and smasher. (these 2 blades for close to table player)
ZLC could use for power looper and block better than ZLF

Thanks Sadius.
Let me confirm to make it clearer (I think there was typo) --> For Zylon, you prefer Boll ZLF and for Zylon-Carbon, you prefer Boll ZLC. Am I right? What are the differences between J Mizutani vs. Boll ZLC (other than limba vs. koto)? Which one is faster between ZLF, ZLC and ordinary TBS/Maze Off (as references)? Thanks. |

Thanks Doraemon for correction . That exactly what i meant. ZLC
I haven't got a chance to play JM yet, so no comment there. Sorry
ZLC is faster than ZLF. Both of them are medium hard feel. I like to play ZLC alot with a hard loop then smash or loop drive after that

ZLF would work very well for your style of play. I have been using Photino which i like, but like u said its going to probably be to thick for you.
JM feels decent but i am pretty sure the TimoBoll ZLF will feel better. |

Thanks for the additional comments.
Although ZLF is good for loopers, is it still OK for occasional change of style to hitting/blocking? Long time ago, I used to be a penholder with hitting/blocking style. Although I am a shakehand looper now, sometimes I got back to the old style just for fun. |

No issue there with block for ZLF like: passive block or punch block. Hitting will have little arc to it, but with ZLC you can do flat hit, block with ZLC much better than ZLF
