Jun Mizutani: Only player who lobs with confidence which aren't always deep/filled with intense topspin.

Does anyone know any other?

The most unorthodox style I've seen is Dr Neubauer and it's not pretty.

I'm thinking of some (years back) european penholder who took most everything EARLY off the bounce...

NOT real familiar w/him but saw some video once and was struck by the oddity.

Anyone?

Well, I think Alfredo Carneros from Spain suits you're style. You can watch one of his last games in the champions league inhttp://www.youtube.com/user/ttcountenance?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/6/bkEiWgJtiyo

yeah it must be him. Dont think his unorthodox play means hes a bad player. He was in two world doubles championships with the great surbek and kosowski, winning one with surbek.

I like Werner Schlager, his style isn't unorthodox but he really has some weird shots in every game he plays, something not in the books :D
interesting to watch

Kalinic is not unorthodox player. In fact that was one of the most orthodox styles at that time.

Yes, rather rare though, being a European lefthanded pen holder.

dima also has a really bad habit of just totally giving up on playable shots in the middle of a rally.

Well there's Joo Se-Hyuk. Everyone's favorite chopper. Chop, chop, chop, lob, loop -> miss. He's just epicly awesome! xD

Also, while some would disagree, J.O. Waldner's playing style isn't used by your everyday Wang Hao. He hardly plays as fast as China's top players do yet he's always winning. He adopts a control method forcing errors on opponents, as well as mind games and a powerful backhand punch or two.
