2009 World Team Cup in Austria

Liu shiwen (CHN) was defeated by Jiang Huajun (HKG). 1 : 3.

Is it true Liu Shiwen failed to cope with Jiang Huajun's bh pips rubber Spectol ?

I watched the match it was the 1st match of women's team semi-final.

Jiang Huajun performed very aggressive and outstanding powerful & quick responding FH play.

Liu Shiwen failed too many times to return Jiang's back hand's attack & tactical returnings.

Was it caused by mistakes to handle Jiang's bh pips rubber (Spectol) ?

I was very said to watch the match Liu Shiwen lost !

Hm...maybe she's not used to the playing style. Quite an upset. Where did you watch this?

Actually I just saw the match. JIANG PLAYED SO WELL! She definitely deserved to win. Her blocks and countersmashes are very powerful and well placed!

She clearly had problems with the pips, but she was making errors off both sides of Jiang's racket.  Jiang was also hitting fh winners on important points.
I am not familiar with these players but it is possible that the pips unsettled Liu enough to affect the outcome.

In 2007, Jiang Huajun defeated Zhang Yining. 4 : 2.

Is it because of her skillful & powerful handling of BH pips rubber ?

Jiang was once China National women's team member.

I don't think anybody else has an 80% success rate against Zhang Yining (in Pro Tour)

Pro Tour Head to Head
JIANG Huajun vs ZHANG Yining

Kuwait Open 2009........................ JIANG Huajun 4 - 2 ZHANG Yining

Croatian Open 2007..................... JIANG Huajun 4 - 3 ZHANG Yining
KUWAIT Open 2006...................... JIANG Huajun 4 - 2 ZHANG Yining

Yes only 2 women have a high win rate over Zhang Yining.
One is Jiang Huajun.
The other is WenJia.

She's using Stiga V1, you don't need anything else to win. Wink
Seriously now, I was impressed by the Jiang Huajun. It was a very good match and I'm glad that I watched it, I even downloaded the video to study her style of play.

She knew that Liu would try to outspin and outsmash her so she tried to hit through that and she did, quite well. Her off the bounce blocks on BH and FH counter smashes were just amazing. I watched the whole match and Liu hardly had a chance to pull off any good smashes/loops that earned her some points.

Feng Tianwei is also able to beat Zhang Yining. Look at the socre line of their play during the Beijing Olympics, each game is over 10 points of each player! Feng Tianwei has beaten Zhang Yining twice.

one of the good points about playing without glue is that if you play with pips the balls you hit with it will be nastier than if you glue the pips, besides jiang has the strongest bh around in the female scene, as soon li jiawei returns i think she will pull more upsets

Why would you want to know what a woman player uses?
Butterfly Viscaria FL
FH: Black DHS Neo Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge National
BH: Red Butterfly Tenergy 80

Footwork and forehand is always the answer.

I just started using short pip and wanted to know generally what do the pro use. I thought if I wanted to try more short pip perhaps I will start with the one commonly used by the professional.

If anyone knows what short pimple He Zhiwen, Wang Yuegu or Cao Zhen use, pls share.
