Can someone be as so kind as to shed further light on this blade? I've found some reviews on it but they're more scarce and not as helpful as I've had hoped. Since I've heard that the Viscaria's a basis for blades such as the TBS and Maze, does it go well with Chinese rubbers? or would it require the stroke perfection that a TBS would with harder sponges?
Can anyone also compare this to the Viscaria Light version? Thanks in advance :D |

It's the only blade that made me feel like i was holding a cannon in my hands and i've tried a whole bunch of them... soft feel almost a little mushy, no vibrations, round but flat handle, very fast and bouncy.

I know a 2200 player who has used the Viscaria and H3 for the last few years.
He loves the blade and H3's spin. He came from using the same blade with Sriver EL (used up until he was 1800 or so). |

Let's do the easy one first 1. Viscaria vs. Viscaria Light: Viscaria Light, of course, is a little bit lighter, but NOT by much. It's thicker and slower than the classic Viscaria. Viscaria and Viscaria Light are both good for Chinese rubbers. There are some differences though. 2. In my opinion, Viscaria is better than TBS, Maze and Viscaria Light. Can you use Chinese rubbers with harder sponges on Viscaria? Yes, you can. However, you need to have perfect strokes, timing and power in order to use this combination. Why? Well, if you put Chinese rubbers on this blade, it NOT as fast as Japanese rubbers. So, you need to have good perfect strokes to go through the ball most of the time. So, your footwork must be good too. The same thing with Viscaria Light. However, I think Viscaria Light is better with Chinese rubbers (Hurricane H3). 3. So, what rubber is good with Viscaria? I would recommend Tenergy 05 over Hurricane, best with something like Bryce Speed. Good luck... |

I use Viscaria with TG2 FH occasionally and it is better at the table opening up and 3rd ball attacks than at mid-distance. I feel comfortable looping at 3-4 feet but any further back I become less confident and am wishing for a softer sponged Euro/Jap rubber. Looping mid- distance can be done but requires better footwork and stroke mechanics from that far.
