So now that its winter break, I don't have a solid, consistently available place to play, and my playing partner is the laziest guy I know. I've thought about getting a robot before but now I really want one. My table is in my garage, and the only way to make it bearable in the cold is to be moving a lot which a robot could help with.
Anyone have good experiences with certain models? Could I get away with a decent experience with a cheaper one or do I want to spend more money? What should I look for in features? |

I have an Amicus 3000 that can memorize drills that mix undrespin and topspin balls, long and short ones, left and right ones...
However a used newgy 2040 would do it for fitness and footwork, doing 2 bh followed by a fh with the same bh side long ball (for example). |

reading the reviews on fareastsports.com, the supermaster robot seems like the best option for the money. I know the Amicus would be a higher performing robot, but its a little out of reach for a college student :D

I agree; today I would not buy the Amicus 3000. That was my point. You can do A LOT with a cheap robot as long as you have the collecting net and recycling balls features.
Ask forum member rich215 about what to buy to get best bang for the buck. |

I got a used TTMatic 202 if you're interested.
I don't find too much useful practice with drills. You can always make some up, but most part is staying sharp with pushes, flips, and underspin attack from both wings. This is to work on technique, but it depends on you level. Let me know if you're interested. |
