Handle preference is likely the most subjective aspect of a blade. It varies person to person. I am surprised that there are so many posts in this thread.

I can't comment on the ST handle but it's certainly not a defensive blade. I played it for a while a few years ago and I would rate it at least All+; I believe paddle palace rates it similarly.
Are you maybe referring to the Bulldozer which is indeed a defensive blade?
OSP Ultimate; Dr. Neubauer Dominance Spin Hard max, Dr. Neubauer Troublemaker 0.5

I think it's actually an All+, or even OFF- blade.  I mean to say it's not a blade for a both sided looper as most of the PP on this particular thread seem to be.

It's subjective, but if more people like one type\model more than the other, then it's a good indication.

Subjective but maybe not discussed enough given that we discuss every other aspect of a blade all the time. Handles turn out to have a surprisingly large effect on how I play. Surprising to me since I discovered the fact so late. Much bigger effect than whether or not the koto is like fish scales (for example). Also, for me a very square handle on either a FL or ST is bad. Absolute deal killer. That includes ST handles on quite a few recent Btfly blades. I like round ST now better than FL. It makes FH to BH transitions so easy. I have never tried one as round as on those old Banda blades but I suspect those would be great.

I have to vouch for the BBC ST handle.  It's the best handle I've ever tried.  The one I tried was wenge, though I'm not sure that matters as much as the shape.  I also really like the FL handle on Peterpan and Spear, but not the FL on Zealot or Lissom... which is sad because the Lissom is an amazing blade.  The ST Lissom is okay, though.

Least comfortable straight: Plenty of choices, the Timo Boll ALC comes to mind, I play with a flared TB ALC just because I really dislike the squareness of the straight one.

Most comfortable straight: Cor du Buy Jack Howard. Good luck finding it, haven't seen one since the early 80's. But it isn't just the handle, it is also the shape of the blade and where the handle fits on it. The Jack Howard Blade let you get very high/tight on the blade.

I find TB ALC the most comfortable right now because of the squareness, although slightly small. Just goes to show handle comfortability is all preference.

The old butterfly square straight handles were the best for me, balsa carbo x5 still has one. The large sized nittaku straight handles are decent too.
