Thanks.

I once read on ping-pong.com that most powerful shot should be your serve.  Ofcourse, its only a school of thought as Europeans like to do short motions.  But, if you look at the chinese, they have a very huge and quick motion....getting more of their muscles into play.

Good spin but the serves are too short. If you are just demonstrating the spin it is ok.

I liked the reverse serve! Looks like WLQ, especially the 2nd one... I've been trying to master that for ages but couldn't get enough spin so I switched to a forehand tomahawk instead. Any tips on doing that?

A few tips for your pendulum: Use your body-weight to 'sink' onto the ball, it'll create much heavier spin. To make it more deceptive, try to  contact the ball closer to your body and hide your follow-through behind your body. Since you're quite comfortable with producing spin, try to shorten your stroke as much as possible while retaining the spin. This will make it much harder to read...

Ye I was actually trying to demonstrate how to serve this so I dont want to hide Big%20smile But in match I always shorten the movement and hide a bit with my torso to make it deceptive as you said above.

you get some really good spin in that dungeon of yours for sure buddy! i'm working on keeping the serve low while still having a really short time between bounces.

You probably know that some players they dont even move their wrist and still get lots of spin. You can generate spin by using the lower arm part also. But anyway, I was keeping my upper arm steady because I felt like I can generate more spin by locking that part and use only my wrist, feels better. Wink

Good spin.

The only thing i'd tell you is to watch the height at which you strike the ball.  Your services right now leave too many chances open for attack.  With a lower bounce they'd be vicious serves.

Really great serve!!! Pretty short and with a nice exit angle.
You pushed me up to develop this serve. I have a sidespin serve good enough to help my tactics (and sometimes decides some points), but I need this one to have more tools, because serve is my major priority.
Congratulations!!!

Ok, thanks for the advice Tongue But actually I've used this a lot and most of the time I see my opponent pushed them back passively creating chance for me to attack Wink But bear in mind, this is kind of only a demonstration anyway.

I have no idea LOL Actually, the only thing that is bad is that it will be easy to push back short => you have to flick it, can't loop it, otherwise short spinny serve is quite good IMO.

@Alcir: Good luck praticing this, its not that hard Smile Just remember to mix up the spin and vary the amount of spin or your opponent will get used to the serve sooner or later.

Thats because its not bad in any way, there are more players who can't serve short than can, slightly longer is often better (half long) because of like you say, you can get dropped back short, but I would rather be able to serve short under pressure than not.
The Older I get, The better I was.

Serving long/half long is definitely easier IMHO, but serving short takes a lot of practice. Varying the spin on short serves is the key as they return is something you want to build your game on. As a modern defender myself, I like to serve long to set myself up for a heavy chop or go for a FH counter loop.

Oh, you know what, some devils out there, they might just roll the ball back ( very little spin and speed !!! Angry ) => no heavy chop if you serve long topspin or no spin. If its long and lots of side/backspin, they can still push back quite short if they are skillful enough Confused Hate those ppl...

It's weird that I find it easier to serve short than long, but I was told (not by kenneyy88 Smile) not to serve short, either double bounce, or long depending on the opponent, bc serving short give opponent easy ball placement, and thus give away the control (that you suppose to have as a server) back to your opponent.  I still find it hard to double bounce though Smile.

Feeling's mutual. I hate playing certain players that instead of looping and playing aggresive play a very one-dimensional game, just keep rolling and pushing with very little spin or speed (I guess its one way of playing an impatient chopper). I'm very FH dominant and this gets me very impatient as I have nothing to chop back against on BH. Thats when I started to learn to twiddle and add the occasional Long Pip hits. BTW what kinda sponge you have under your P1-R? Also are you using the Neo H3? BTW where the hell are you playing. Looks like some old dungeon out of Harry Potter.

Yes, we are quite the same indeed. I'm also forehand dominant and I'm also able to attack with my long pips, not very consistently but I can smack quite hard LOL I also thought of the twiddling thing although I dont like it so much but its the only way to force them to attack with lots of spin since you generated lots of backspin on the ball right? And I was hell of an impatient player ( used to be aggressive attacker with tenergy and amultart ) but now things is going better Tongue

Glad it works for you. I'm just pointing out the weaknesses i'd exploit, personally : )  If you want to rise through the ranks, you'll be facing people who will take advantage of a bounce slightly too high.
