Well, I finally got to the club and tested the blade, it's hard to tell what difference or effect the new shape had on the blade. It was a very controlled setup to begin with.
Overall it was very controlled and I didn't have many problems with the ball chipping off of the cut out space, maybe 3 or 4 times during 45 minutes of hitting around it flew up probably from hitting the lowered top edge. Didn't notice any problems I had feared in short game, I was able to get very heavy spin loops away from the table on forehand and backhand was very easy to block and counter with. Again though, not sure how much a difference the shape made on it. It still seemed fairly heavy, with the full shape it probably would have been overly heavy for me with the hard Chinese rubbers I had on it. I probably played better with it than any of my other two setups I hit around with yesterday. After playing with it, it felt weird using a normal racket, they looked oddly large at first and I found myself not thinking about hitting the sweet spot as much. If I were a richer, more bored man, I would play with a setup and then take a saw to the blade while at the club and just trace and saw off the sides and then play with it again with the same rubber on it, to really see the difference, but hey, didn't seem totally necessary to have those rounded sides sticking out to me. |

Keep a dress seven years and it will come back in vogue. This Tibhar peculiar blade is told to be fit only too well for playing with plastic ball. |
