So I noticed on paddle palace that there was a new Juic blade: Stellan Bengtsson alpha.

It seems kinda interesting, it's Carbon-Kevlar, but at an All+ speed. I've been contemplating moving to a more looping oriented composite blade, as I've really only played all-wood blades for the most part and I want to try a composite blade that won't rocket balls off the table, so this blade seems pretty appealing to me. Any thoughts on Juic blades? They seem to be pretty uncommon from what I see.

Could be something similar to Gambler A/C which is also Carbon-Arylate (Kevlar) blade with ALL+ speed .

Both blades will probably (I have played with GAC only) be very good for beginners with developing game as they are very consistent, with large sweet spot, not fast, loop very well etc.

I remember someone reviewing the Juic Hybrid, which is also marked as ALL+, and commenting it was nearly as fast as a Butterfly Maze. Looking similiar in construction with Hybrid, I suspect this blade may also be OFF for real speed.

Yeah, that's what I also first thought when I saw the blade composition, the only Carbon/Aralyte(Kevlar) blades are all solidly in the Off to Off+ range, such as the TBS, MMaze, Nittaku KCZ, Stiga Carbokev, etc. This still makes me curious though that perhaps it really isn't quite as fast.

I'm not so sure Arylate and Kevlar are really the same thing. Arylate is another name for Vectran from what I remember. Kevlar, aramids, Vectran, and Zylon are usually grouped together as similar materials, but we all know how different Arylate and Zylon feel in a blade, especially when woven into carbon...

But I am curious about this blade. A 5.9mm thick ALL+ hybrid composite seems interesting. However I don't like its dimensions... 152x160mm. That means its gonna be head-heavy once you stick your looping rubbers on it.

Yeah I agree about the dimensions thing, that's the only thing that's a turn-off to me about the blade, though I guess that could always be reduced by hand...

The JUIC Stellan Bengtsson Alpha is the REAL DEAL!  I have been looking for a ALL+ blade with good solid control for a while, and this is it.  I have bought, and resold, other similar blades before, like the JUIC Hybrid and the JUIC Carbo Wish.  They all sound similar and listed as ALL+, but they were all more like OFF or OFF-.  But not the Stellan Bengtsson.  The Stellan Bengtsson is a reall ALL+, with a huge sweet spot and lots of control.  It's hard to miss a shot with this blade.  I love it and am finally switching from the Tibhar Samsonov Alphas (which I have 3 of) that I have been using for the last nearly 10 years.

It isnt just for beginners - "Jim Butler 3x U.S. singles Champion 2-time Olympic " Plays with this blade currently and I had an opportunity to hit with him for short time and this blade does have the feel and It delivers as promised.

I played with Jim's blade too.  He had two sheets of Juic Nanocannon on it, which I have never tried before.  The blade is not that slow, I would call it on the fast end of OFF-, and you can really feel the ball.  Definitely slower than my Viscaria, even accounting for the rubbers, but plenty fast enough.  The Juic has a layer of Kevlar, but to me it feels more like an all wood blade, certainly nothing at all like an ALC blade.  There is a definite vibration when you hit, but not excessive, and the blade has pretty good dwell time.  When you need to hit hard it can do that too (Jim was vaporizing balls with his backhand with it).  Of all the blades I have tried, this one has some similarity to a Hurricane Wang Liqin, an all-wood blade used by another friend of mine.  The Juic blade is a bit head-heavy, the handle is very comfortable.  I have used ALC blades for years and this particular Juic blade is not for me, but it is definitely a good blade that can be used by players literally of all levels.  It is NOT just, or even primarily, a beginner's blade.  One thing I noticed, Jim was definitely playing better with the Juic blade/rubber combination than he was with the TB-ALC/T05 he was using before, and he likes it much better.
