I'm looking for all wood blade (5 or 7-ply) with compact head size..
I heard Donic makes compact type heads for its offensive blades.
also, xiom has some blades with compact shape..
can anyone recommend any other brand or specific blade?

Tibhar, Andro, and Butterfly have few compact head size all wood blades; Tibhar Samsonov Alpha, various Kinetic blades from Andro, and of course Primorac OFF- from Butterfly.

Samsonov alpha yes, but primorac is normal head size 150x157mm. Two others from BTY which have a smaller head are kiso hinoki V and VII, both great quality blades.

the original butterfly kong linghui blade is a 5-ply compact head also.  It has the classic ayous-spruce-koto construction.

Donic Sawtec blades have smaller head size. They are 149x150.

I play with a Xiom Amadeus.  I don't really like the smaller head side, but it really helps reducing the total weight (smaller rubbers).  First time my setups weights under 180gr with 2 chinese rubbers.  I also have a Donic Presson All Around and the head side seems to be even smaller.

In addition to the eight shapes listed on his website, Charlie of BBC Table Tennis has templates for something like 30-40 more. My very first BBC blade was called the Baby Cobra shape and it was very compact indeed. You might want to email Charlie and see what he can do for you.

Hi peter79, amadeus is one of the best allwood blade around. how do you compare with acoustic/violin in term of feel and speed? i try to get them soon enough.

and new violin's head size is quite compact right?

Amadeus is faster than Acoustic, but stiffer, less feel and control. I prefer Acoustic/Violin over Amadeus because of the head size and feel.

Acoustic/Violin L-sized Head Size is smaller than normal Acoustic/Violin.

There are too many undersize blades. A real disaster for those who love to try rubbers.
