these are my experiences after 4 practices. WARNING: this is not what i would consider a typical 'review thread', i could go on about these rubbers and blades for 10+ pages EASY, detail by detail, but all those little details just skew one's vision anyway. this is the bottom line, from my perspective. i will be blunt and i will generalize.
the final setups: t05 1.9 black tbs - fantastic blade, a little stiff-muffled-deadish feeling, or should i say lack thereof boost tc red max - loud, very soft: i dont recommend it. i just wasnt impressed, nor was i impressed with tp. h3 neo black max yeo - equally fantastic blade, not as balanced as tbs, but so much better feel, and much lighter iqul 40 red 2.0 - dont waste your tenergy money on sriver when this is available for $17 shipped, folks t05 worked beautifully on the tbs and lacked in comparison on the yeo. h3 worked beautifully on the yeo and lacked in comparison on the tbs. t05 is an incredible backhand rubber, h3 is not. t05 is clearly the better fh rubber as well, by a landslide. in a broad sense, the mechanics of the t05 in the vast majority of situations are strictly better than h3 neo. and it CERTAINLY a generous amount spinnier. h3 is much harder to get good results out of in most situations. t05 is the more user friendly rubber. heres where the two rubbers differ hugely. when you are close-med to the table, and start driving the ball real hard with t05, you lose perfect control, leading to more unforced errors. it is much more finicky, tempermental, and volatile than h3 in this specific situation. h3 is close to perfect for wacking the ball with all of your heart and driving them very literally into the wall behind them, all while standing a step away from the table. if you take another half step back, t05 dominates once again. serving and short game are great with t05, 7.5/10, but h3 is OUT-STANDING in this role, it dominates t05 in both aspects, 9/10. with the correct plan and focused execution, h3 can be strategically as good or better than t05; without, t05 wins big time. which do i prefer? i couldnt tell you at this point. i believe this to be a very fair general overview of these two rubbers, hope you enjoyed. |
