I have been using Tenergy 25 on my FH for sometimes. I quite like it but I have been discouraged due to the recent Butterfly price increase..

So yesterday I tried Nittaku Narucross Ex Hard 2.1mm which is a tacky Tensor rubber.. and I found that this rubber is actually easier to use than Tenergy... I quite like it..

I have never really use a Tensor before so this is a really good experience for me...

anyone else also sharing the same experience like me?? prefer Tensor like rubber than Tenergy like rubber?

Since now I am thinking to use Tensor... I am interested for any comparison for anyone who has used Palio Macro Era 47.5 and Nittaku Narucross Ex Hard.. specifically about the topsheet tackiness and durability.

Thank you

I could be wrong, but technically I think the only thing that is a legitimate "tensor" is that which is made by ESN. I don't think Narucross is made by ESN, though Palio Macro Era is.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. Smile

I used Narucross EX Hard for quite some time. It works very nicely but you'll probably soon notice that the edges will start crumbling after a few weeks. It doesn't really affect play, but it looks like crap and doesn't inspire confidence in the rubber's durability.

You might try Narucross GS Hard. It just came out not too long ago and has improved durability. It also has improved playability too, in my opinion. Of course, it's fairly expensive. You may have better luck with Palio if you're looking for less expensive rubber.

Thanks Anton for your input... I have only used the narucross twice but I am worry about its durability... My Tenergy does last long..

so the Narucross is not Tensor, so what are they??... it has some feel like Andro Plasma or Joola Tango... and made in Germany.... that make me think that it is a Tensor...

If it's made in Germany then it might be a tensor. I could be wrong. Some Japanese companies sell German-made rubbers, and some German companies sell Chinese made rubbers, etc, etc. So Narucross may be a tensor... But as far as I understand, "Tensor" is a copyright name belonging to ESN. Hence, only ESN rubbers are "tensor" rubbers. But I could be wrong on that, too. It's all semantics and technicalities, in any case. I shouldn't have brought it up. And now it looks like I was wrong, to boot. Embarrassed

But I do still suggest Narucross GS Hard over the EX Hard. Thumbs Up

Better try gambler outlaw than narucross ex hard. It is harder, more control, a bit slower though, but spinnier.

Well... I don't consider either to be "tacky", but that may be because you and I define tacky differently. To me, tacky means sticky. As in, the rubber will pick up a stationary ball off the table and hold it for a time. The Narucross (both EX and GS) cannot do that, so I consider them "grippy". Chinese rubbers tend to be hard and tacky, Euro/Jap rubbers tend to be softer and grippy.

Now that that is out of the way, I think the GS top sheet has much more grip than the EX. However, I would say that I think the GS Hard is slightly (but only slightly) softer than EX Hard.

As far as weight goes, I don't know and I wouldn't want to mislead you.

ok... thanks Anton...

Hi Peter79, does the Gambler Outlaw has the Tensor feel or characteristic?.. it is a 729 rubber, right? The Narucross EX hard felt like Tensor but unlike Andro Plasma or Joola Tango.. its topsheet is more grippy (thanks Anton) and I like it very much...

so far with the chinese rubber or Tenergy I found that I have to juggle between the looping or hitting characteristic ... if I want a rubber with better looping that I lose a bit in the hitting and vice versa... but not with this rubber... I can loop and hit confidently..

Sweet old topic, tenergy, tensor, chinese rubber mixed into one.

If you like Chinese you should try h3 neo

What do you want?

A tensor cant be tenergy nor can it be Chinese and then multiply this by the other possible combinations.

spinart is between chinese and tenergy

@Pongz, gambler outlaw is made by gambler, not 729. It is only available outside China because it's a custom order by zeropong. It has a bit tensor feel but just harder. It's a very good price performance rubber. The 3rd version top sheet is more durable and looks high quality compare to old generation.
