I can only find very limited information on Stiga Radical on this forum.  Can someone who has played with this rubber post a detail review?  Speedy?

I am currently playing with TSP Tyranno.  Tyranno is expensive in the US and is a hassle to get it from overseas hence the reason I want to go to something different.  Between the Radical and Royal, which is closer in playing properties to the Tyranno?

I am here... call my name huh? Smile

Well, here we go... Radical is closer to Tyranno as far as feel, and Royal is close to Tyranno as far as speed.  I have tried many short pips, and I always come back to either Royal or Radical.

I used Flarestorm and Flarestorm II.  They are both excellent rubbers.  However, I like Radical and Royal better for my style (aggressive and reckless LOL)...

Both are spinnier and easier to control compared to Tyranno. Royal is faster, while Radical has better control on most strokes. Radical has more gears than Tyranno and Royal, especially if you are a penholder.

Speedy, thanks for the speedy response.  I read that somewhere that the pip structure of Flarestorm is almost identical of Tyranno's.  But since the price of Flarestorm is higher than that of Tyranno, I am not going to try Flarestorm.  (Butterfly's prices has just gone to ridiculously high, imo)

Thanks, Chicho.  I think I'll be ordering a Radical in the next few days.

I haven't played anyone with Radical since the glue ban, but when it was glued it was incredibly spinny for a short pimple.

royal behaves like an inverted rubber. i switched back to my other set up from royal to 802-40 since i could produce more spinless balls when punchblocking. on the royal i feel my punchblocks are still a bit spinny

radical is kinda wild. there are times that the ball you are hitting or spin driving doesn't have spin and there are times that its spin is great which can also backfire for the user. it's a bit unpredictable at times.

That's what I am afraid of. I need something that is consistent for me, but not so much for opponent. Challenger Attack? Other besides 802-40.

I have used Radical / Royal / Clippa / TSP Spectol / Flarestorm/Raystorm / Adidas Speed / 802-40

as for your query
IMHO royal and 802-40 also Raystorm/flarstorm can produce spin and easy to use they behave like inverted rubbers. and also the adidas speed which i just used.

Spectol and Radical have almost the same experience for me.

but now im switching back to radical, and what i noticed about radical is that when it gets old it's more comfortable for me to play with it and getting more deceptive  block return :)

btw, i always use the max thickness.. will try the 2.0 or 1.9 of radical soon.

the blades are manufactured in china, the rubbers from ESN. all the apparels and shoes are from adidas factory but are designed for TT specifically
