I just ordered a sportcraft marquis to be delivered to my club through walmart. It is listed as a 1" top and looks very sturdy. The finish of the top felt nice. I have seen one on display at Dicks a couple of years ago, but the last time we bought a table the marquis wasn't available. I'll try to let you know how it plays.
At 430 with tax, delivered, it seems to be quite a bargain. Lets hope for no surprises.

Lots of good talk about that table. I would love to know from someone like you how it is. Keep us posted.
