    Posted: 02/09/2011 at 8:32am

Hi everybody

For more than a year i am playing with a Stiga OC CR penhold blade, it is a great blade with great feel.
The only downsides for me are the lichtweight and sometimes i feel it laks a little bit power when looping in 2nd line.
I consider to puchase a Stiga Carbo 7.6 WRB penhold because it is said it is more solid and faster but still has that woodish feel.
Is it worth the upgrade from OC CR penhold to Carbo 7.6 WRB penhold?

Thanks

Imho Offensive NCT, YEO or Rosewood V are better options if you are looper. Carbo is a good blade, but I don't see it as an upgrade to OC. It's quite a different blade.

to be honest, i'm not familiar with the OC and, on top of that, i'm a shakehander, but i do know the carbo 7.6 and it is one of the best blades i've ever played with.

it has a large sweet spot, so, though it's fast, it has excellent control.  if you have the right rubber on it, you start to feel like you can't miss.  it's an excellent blade for looping.

the only downside is that it's a bit heavy, but if you can handle the weight, i highly recommend it.

i also have the YEO now and it's definitely lighter, but it doesn't have the control of the carbo 7.6.

The OC CR is a snail compared to the carbo 7.6. That's not just an upgrade. I've played with both. That's a very large speed gap. go with something slower.

Thanks, for your experiences. Luckily I can try the blade before buying. i will test the carbo 7.6 WRB, Rosewood and a HRT Ebenholz V clone before buying. I defenitily stick with stiga because I like the handles for penhold.
