Just went to the Dandoy-sports website and saw that Butterfly products are no longer available for sale. Wonder why...?

Specifically, there would be in each country (or group of
countries) be appointed one main distributor which purchases can only directly
at the main company with offices in Tokyo (Japan) and Moers (Germany).
That Distributor owns
the exclusive rights to online advertising for the brand and the material via a
webshop to offer in his area. The State of the chosen company is free to any sales to grant
licenses to other stores. This "subcontractors" would, however, the products only in
their physical store may offer. The logo, name and products of Butterfly should in no way be
mentioned on the website of any such subcontractor, let alone be included in a
webshop. Belgium
was also included in the Group of countries "Benelux" and the
main distribution was not one of the existing Belgian shops
assigned. Butterfly wants with this new
distribution model the quality in the # online # shops increase.
The main distributor undertakes to distribute the full range
and the customers a quality service to offer. What demands are made to the subcontractors
in terms of supply and quality is not yet clear. It will be remains to be seen whether this model in practice
for the customer effectively is better. The number of stores where the products are available, they can
go down as some self-employed persons are not eligible for or even dropping off
on this distribution model. Online you have no choice. In addition, this method creates a
quasi-monopoly for the selected main distributors within their areas.
A situation that is
generally not favourable in terms of pricing for the consumer. Just look at July 2010 when
Butterfly her prices are already extremely increased, both for the shopkeeper as
private. When his
already many players switched to material of a different brand. Also the consequences for clubs who
through their local shop to be sponsored by the brand are highly
unclear. |

That's not correct. My guess is they had a website problem yesterday caused Xiom rubbers to disappear temporarily. They are visible as of 5 minutes ago :)

Dandoy is still selling Butterfly products, but only for customers in the Benelux countries. Customers accessing the Dandoy website from outside those countries will get to the website without Bty stuff.

So, I don't get it at all. Either BTY introduce direct marketing strategy bypassing the intermediate links (distributors and dealers) and thus sell with more substantial discounts, or they play the role of the Distributor General ant treat all other sellers with equal measure (say, order > $1000 get 20%, order > $5000 and get 30%).
