Hi guys,

Just wanted to know if there's any way to 'drain' or 'dry out' the tuner/booster out of a sponge? The Hurricane III neo/commercial I've boosted twice in the past 4 weeks is now 59g. Each boost I did used 3-4 layers of booster bio speed TRF and the rubber went from 48g (cut, not boosted) to a current 60g (which is basically the weight of the rubber uncut)! I fear for my elbow.

Am I tuning correctly? Has anyone experienced such additional weight? and what do you do about it? Shall I just dry the sponge out in the sun, or with a dryer?! get a new sheet?! go Hurricane III 38 Provincial, which might not require tuning?! get a loan and buy Txx?! LOL

Thanks!

All hurricanes require tuning, which booster do you use? It is quite normal for rubbers to become heavier, hence more 'spring'.

Drill...just stop tuning.  Find a rubber that doesn't need tuning as there are plenty of rubbers available.  I've always found it too much work to speed glue, tune, etc.  I like a rubber I can glue on and be done with it.

It takes a long time for tuner to evaporate, longer than I'm sure your willing to decommission that sheet of rubber. There is no method that I know of that can be used to "force" the residue from the pores of the sponge.

I have always assumed that most of the oil will stay in the sponge , Its great that you weighed it before and after as it gives some real evidence, A sponge is a sponge afterall and made to hold and absorb.
Im unsure how it reduce the weight but lying the rubber on a absorbant cloth may make some oils capillery out and then use the cloth to wipe that top sheet of any other rubbers
