Give this rubber a shot! Or two.

What is this rubber like?

Its characteristics are similar to T64. It's different, but similar. Whatever.

About a month ago, I put the Tibhar 1Q on the backhand of my Viscaria. A bit later, I changed blade, but kept using the 1Q.

I liked the rubber from the beginning, but always thought: Should I go back to T64? By now I must say: No, I will stick to this rubber. After adapting to the differences, it is clear: This is the best rubber for my backhand I have ever used. No doubt!

Care to share more with us why it is the best for your BH? How hard the sponge? Heavy? Suitable for FH?

Like I said, it is similar to T64 in terms of performance.

Hardness is about the same, it feels perhaps a tad softer. Weight is about the same (did not weight the rubber alone, but my racket has about the same weight as with T64, it's 1 gr lighter).

There are two clearly notable differences between between 1Q and T64:
- The rubber does bite a bit less if you do not engage the sponge.
- The throw is a tad lower

I personally don't like it on the forehand, but I never liked T64 on the forehand neither.

Bump!

Now that you've had some more time with the rubber to break it in and play lots of games, do you have any additional information or modifications to your previous statements? I.E. how is the wear rate?

The durability of the rubber is good. I had marks on the rubber at the position where my finger is quickly but strangely ball impact does not show marks quickly. I would say durability is a tad better than T64.

By now I think that the rubber is more than a tad softer than T64. Though it's still no soft rubber.

In average it's a bit slower than T64, but it is quite dynamic and generates very good speed and spin when you hit the ball right.

Throw is quite a bit lower than T64 if you grace the ball. If you rather hit it I would say it is about similar.

It's not a particularly linear rubber.

I personally think that it is really great over the table. Flicks, short returns work really well for me. Blocking and close to the table looping is perfect for me as well. A bit further off I would prefer T64.

Never used Genius or Acuda. Spin is at the level of T64 I would say.

Had tried 1Q and Aurus Soft on Calix, very nice but 1Q felt too fast for my liking after a two session. Moved the rubbers onto Yokohama Yue..

wow... the combi felt so much better, very good control. IMO, felt lower throw and a bit more spinny than T05, maybe 1Q is still new.

A local coach tried my blade, and he commented that "the 1Q setup is very good, has the spin and power. Aurus Soft felt a bit soft and less spinny. Will be ideal if 1Q is also placed on the BH. Inaddition, the YY should goes well with medium to medium hard rubbers!"

Will stick to this combi and see how it goes...
I love cheap and good blades that suit my game...

Is it low throw, good for blocking? and lifting heavy under spin serves? Is it good on the BH?

I picked up a used Timo Boll ALC for a good price at Nexy HQ and bought a sheet of 1Q to see what all the Korean buzz waz about this rubber. My findings after one eveening 6 hours of play using 1Q of FH?...

Performed much like Aurus in terms of grabbing the ball and control of shots. Speed was faster by a 1/2 gear, spin is a bit better, maybe same. Throw was medium. I could do every offensive shot with this rubber. Countering was real nice. I could block well too. Flicks worked when I was in position.

Overall, this is a top rubber worthy of being on my short list of FH rubbers. Price before discount is right around $60, so it isn't exactly inexpensive. I have been getting along just fine using regular Aurus on FH at just under $30 a sheet after my discount. I will likely keep using Aurus on main TBS bat and keep this ALC with 1Q and Aurus and a handy backup bat.
