Hey,

Does anyone know where I can find a mini blade (cpen preferred)?  I want to practice with 1 to make sure I keep my eye on the ball all the way to contact.  I rarely do that know because I "know" where the ball is going and the paddle is large.

I don't want keychain size, but maybe something closer to half the size of a normal blade.  Basically something I can actually play with.

Thanks.

Have you considered just putting a small piece of rubber on a backup blade.  The offset from the hand to the "sweet spot" would be correct in that case whereas the mini paddle would have you hitting the ball much closer to your hand than you would want with a real paddle.  Not sure if the mini-paddle would have the right grip size so your stroke could be affected.   Small rubber on regular blade (especially if only done on one side) would also be much closer to actual paddle weight than a mini-paddle.

If you have considered this approach but rejected it could you tell me what you found lacking in the small rubber on regular blade method.  I have the same "not watching" problem and have been trying to come up with some kind of practice technique myself.

I've customized quite a few mid and mini sized blades. The one that felt the best to me was the juic mini from paddlepalace (I had inspirit quattro and h3 on that one)

for a little bit bigger blade, i'd recommend the donic midi (http://www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=d-midi-r)... you'd have to tear off the rubbers and add your own (i put cream mrs and 2008xp on one and it played pretty nice)

Thanks guys.  Does anyone know the dimensions of the yinhe mini blade?  Same goes for the length of the donic blades.

I couldn't find the juic mini from paddle palace or anywhere else for that matter.

I don't want to use a normal size racket with small rubber, because I would rather miss the ball than hit the blade.  I want the instant feedback and frustration of missing the ball completely.  Though I play penhold, I could do this drill shakehand because the purpose is to get in the habit of always watching the ball.  The results aren't really important.  Doing it shakehand should have less of an impact on my technique.

I have a couple of the mini blades if you want them.  I'm not home to measure the dimensions.

It's fun to play but I don't see it as a training tool, as the blade requires you to hit much closer to your hand than your sweet spot on a normal racket.

If you could get back to me via pm on the size and price I would appreciate it.
It's not a perfect training tool, but I figure if I get in the habit of watching the ball all the way through contact I should be able to hit the sweet spot on any paddle.
