May be we should start a new thread on your DHS Hao. I am afraid you already knew about the authenticity of your blade. I also have one for cheap from TB and guess what, mine got the exact same serial 101927 as yours! How cool is that!...never trust a word from those TB sellers. I agree it play decent for a 5 ply wood blade and reasonably built. I too hope it is a genuine factory second until I bought a legit HH2 recently (replacement of 656) and the difference is quite obvious. The 656 has a blade face of 160x153x66 while the HH2 is 164x150x60. The handle of 656 is 79x31x23 while the HH2 is 82x32x25. So the face of 656 is bigger, thicker and handle is smaller. May be due to the extra 10% increase in thickness, the 656 is decent in power and stiffer but lack flex and feel. Hope someone with a genuine 656 can comment on the actual size and feel. For less than double the price of fake 656 I got a HH2 from TT11. You can also buy one PG12 and one PG13 (both genuine) for the price of one fake 656. So the deal of buying fake does not look so sweet after all. |

Figures. At least I didn't pay 100+. I can check w/ locals who have supposedly legit HH1 (old version w/ red square badge on end) and check size diff with those. Maybe they'll be informed they have smaller fakes, too, haha.

I have that pair as well. HH1 is the replacement of HH and all HH1, 2 and 3 are still in production. The situation of HH is even worst in TB. My HH from TB got a face of 159x153x56 while HH1 is 164x150x56. At least they got the thickness right this time. Handle is the same length but thinner. I suspect they use one mold for both shakehand and penhold blades as their penhold got a roundish face just like their shakehand counterpart. Fake HH is $30 and legit HH1 is $50 so it is not worth it.

Saw it once selling from eacheng.net at abt that price. Then it was available from ttnpp for quite some time at $56 or so. You mean the one with the dragon handle?

I bought it from TT11. It was $60 with 30% off so I actually paid $42 for it. It is cheaper than buying from TB. |

I believe it is Hurricane Long which got a Dragon head on the back of handle. The one on H-Hao 2 and 3 is a Lion while the one on H-King could be a Tiger (something like the Lion on H-Hao but no hair). HH1 does not come with any animal but the head of Wang Hao in a circle. The same design as his personal blade.
I check again with a digital gauge and my HH2 is 6.0 + something. I run a search online and mostly the thickness is between 5.9 and 6.1mm. According to DHS official site it is 6.0 +-0.1mm. One 656 I found is even down to 5.6mm. DHS quality control could be shocking sometime.

Thanks. Then more precise would be to say, HH1 with the signature. How is it compared to the old HH?

Wait, I thought there was only one OG version before the 656 (which you call HH2)? The one with the red label on end you reference? What's diff between HH and HH1? So confusing. |

My HH from TB is probably fake. So it is not proper to compare. All I can say is that HH1 feels more alive with flex and my TB HH got less feedback. Could be due to different rubber used. All reviews I read of HH talks about its lack of FH power but excellent for RPB. My HH is exactly like that. The thicker 656 fix the problem of FH but some complain there is less feel for RPB. DHS blades that carry Wang Hao's name include the following. Hurricane Wang Hao (H-WH) (very thick 5 ply) Hurricane Hao, later replaced by Hurricane Hao 1 (thin) Hurricane 656, later replaced by Hurricane Hao 2 (thicker) Hurricane Hao 3 (thin with 1 fiber glass carbon center layer) So basically only 6 DHS blades carry his name. May be you can also consider the Nittaku Wang Hao (same as H-WH but released in Japan) the 7th. In fact there are only 4 if not counting all the replacement and variation. You can also find Wang Hao's head under the handle of x5006 and x6006 premade. Not so many comparing to what Butterfly do to Timo. The diff between HH and HH1 as decoi said should be appearance only.

Still, I have the feeling that HH1 has more feeling because it looks somewhat slimmer and thinner. But unfortunately, it's out of stock on tt11.
Don't forget also PG-13 which, though not carrying the name of WH, is still a very truthful remake of HH3, most probably same plyboard - different printing and handle.

HH1/HH does have more feel and flex than the thicker HH2/656. HH1 and old HH both have the same thickness of 56mm and basically the same blade. They are meant for using speed glue rubbers. DHS blades are always sold out fast in TT11. Their price is just too good after discount. Better tell them to send you a reminder when the stock is back. Wonder how much they will priced the new blades when they got them.
