Interesting......one side have 4 choppers? the other have 4 attackers?
Would be a bit more interesting if Seo wore that "sexy" dress.

Feng Tianwei (looper) --- ITTF WR #4
vs
Hu Limei (chopper) --- ITTF WR #101
Not a sanctioned event, but you can see each player really wants to beat the other player.
*** Question: Which one uses more energy, looper or chopper? ***
(Looper attacks hard, but the chopper runs hard.) Edited by skip3119 - 08/23/2013 at 3:04pm |

I say the chopper expends more energy and runs a LOT more.
You really do not see it, but those 1st steps a defensive player must make are explosive and they often go more than one, plus their chop is not a pitter-pat daisey-duke shot either, it is violent just like an offensive shot. An attacker moves a lot less than a defender in such a match. An attacker can hit for power all day if he or she does not have to run sprints every second.

An interesting opinion.
As I recall that Ding Ning Lost twice to Hu Limei in the WTTC trials. Some argued because the matches took place in a city that is at high altitude, the air is thin. The looper, Ding Ning needed more oxygen than the chopper, Hu Limei, so Ding Ning was at a disadvantage.
Does this imply that the looper uses more energy than the chopper? Edited by skip3119 - 08/25/2013 at 1:34am |

an attacker has to move faster and more acceleration in every stroke , so in term of science it take s more power |

Looper does uses more power and need more effort when playing chopper.
Thus the saying goes, the longer the match continues, the better for the chopper player, especially by the decding set (7th etc). Same applies when players looses so much energy and struggle to play in the next round, once defeating a chopper in a close match up the round earlier. For chopper or propper chopper, the running around is normal footwork movement, and they are trained to chop (China) thousands of balls a day with footwork movement. It may look tiring for the audiences eyes, but trust me, looper is more tired than chopper in those cases. |
