Where to find Primo Carbon |

A customer/friend called me up and wanted my help finding a primo carbon. He said that everywhere he checked they are out of stock and behind in production. Can anybody tell me a place where he could get one that would be reliable? Does he need to worry about different versions of the blade produced in different places?
Also, he's on the "tenergy alternative" quest. What are you guys finding is the best alternative lately? He said he liked omega2 a lot but it went out of production. I know this is searchable, but the sheer volume of posts on the subject is overwhelming.

Many people would say that Bluefire (M1 or M2) and Evolution (MX-P and EL-P) are pretty good and you can switch to these from Tenergy with minimal adjustment in the way you actually play. The feel is not exactly the same, but the performance is good. BUT, at least in US, the price is not that different, and they seem to be more factory boosted than Tenergy, so some have argued that their useful lifetime is less. In the US, there is no longer a strong economic incentive to any of the usual competitors. On the other hand, in Europe, the price of Tenergy is reported to be a lot higher than these others. There are plenty of other really good rubbers out there, but if a particularly player really liked Tenergy, those others might be less attractive as alternatives.

Primorac carbon (along with Schlager Carbon) is a very popular blade here. Just about all the newbs and 99% of the OX LP crowd use Schlager Carbonand some of the top Div national players use a Primorac Carbon. many of the Korean online places sell it and it is rarely out of stock, unlike the Viscaria which is in stock for only 1-2 days after they get a batch.
Nexy has several different weights and handles. It does cost a pretty penny for international shipment, but at a price of just under $100 the blade isn't ridiculously priced. |

As for a Tenergy replacement, I would say Tibhar Evolution FX-P is the easiest to transition into from T05. Simply awesome control and the ball moves out, especially on counterloops. Soft defensive shots are great as well. In US though, that rubber approaches the cost of tenergy.
I switched to Tibhar Aurus after T05 jacked up in price. If one looks well enough, one can score Aurus for around $40 a sheet, but US distributor will like sell it for a lot more than that.

I just took another look at Nexy's site and they are selling Aurus for $35 a sheet and Evolution MX-P for $41 a sheet. Those are good prices if one bought a few sheets it would easily make the shipping cost a value. US distributor charges $55 for Aurus and $60 for Evolution.
Nexy is selling Aurus and Evolution online for the discount I get when I show up to their HQ. Hmmm...

I just made my final visit to Nexy HQ today before I depart Korea. They confirm they have the Primorac carbon and the brand manager, Mr. Lee (Nexy.com member here on MyTT) confirms they will sell Aurus and Evolution and greatly reduced prices for the next few weeks or month. Both of those rubbers I have personally used as T05 replacement. The softer FX-P is great with composite blades and Aurus works on just about anything. Other rubbers are great replacements as well and it seems the Stiga Tour is getting a lot of good buzz. I liked that rubber on the test model of the Tibhar Inca.
