Any 5-ply blades out there that are relatively thin (5.8/5.9mm) with blade face larger than usual (158mm+ by whatever) and that is good for hitting with short pips BH and loop drive FH?

From my search, the ones recommended the most for SP are blades such as clipper and AVX P700, but I found those to be a little too thick. If anyone has had any good experience with a blade with the above descriptions, that would be great.

I would say the osp virtuoso+ would be a good choice as it is pretty solid blade good gor looping as well for hitting.

Defplay senso is 5.5mm, great for short pip defence, all-round play and excellent for FH loop, probably not ideal for pure short pip hitting

Here you can find two old Stiga blades from the early 70's (ST and CO). Both are classic 5-ply blades, both are thinner versions and both have a larger head than usual (today).

The Stiga Optimum Tube Carbo seems to fit your needs. Fast blade but it's pretty thick.
Stiga Optimum Sync is pretty solid too. I read somewhere someone likes it for hitting and blocking. A friend of mine also gets some very spinny low arc shots out of it. Edited by Re1Mu2R3 - 09/24/2013 at 8:18am |

For a while i played with the Joo Se Hyuk and it is very good with the inverted forehand and backhand SP is not bad either!!
that being said i still think the TB t5000 is the best blade for thin carbon blade that works well with both SP and inverted

SP need a stiffer blade to work well and a thinner blade would be the opposite unless the blade can be thinner as a ticcker one

If you are looking at flat hitting and blocking, 7ply wood is the way to go. I would recommend Clipper, TB W7 or Adidas Challege Speed.
