currently using DHS 655 - like it alot. just tried an OSP expert all - found it had more dwell time and adequate power- which I find interesting.    I plan to get one of the four blades in subj - given what I am using now, any suggestions ? - looking for similar  speed/power with more control.

t64, could you elaborate a bit?  do you feel the 4 mentioned have some weakness or not that different than HK655?

Yes, don't change. 655 is way above the subject. Instead, change the rubbers if you look for more speed and power. I would suggest Rasant.

Imago,

I am already using Rasant on the BH on one of my 655, and T80 (BH) on my second 655.  I am perfectly happy with the power but found  I could practice with the Expert  more consistenly with somewhat diminished power, but still acceptable.  Given the above, do you think I should not bother with the change?  I know most of the time changes do not turn out well, even though we always think they will.  Please advise.

Tom

Rasant Turbo will give you a little bit more control. The regular Rasant feels harder and faster on 655. Don't know about T80. You've already got the close to perfect setup, don't bother about better.

I've used all the above blades apart from the violin. I rate the expert as the best of a very good set of blades. The 655 is a lot stiffer, it just depends on what you like

It's really a matter of preference. I have tried several Experts, Carbon included, and all of them have less catapult than both SH and PH, signature edition of 655.

BTW, the SH version has a realistic colourful pic of WLQ on the cap.

I bought 4 blades last year and initially thought 2 played better than the 655.  I went back to the 655 after trying it again after playing with the others for a while.  For me, getting new blades usually turn out to be a waste of money but it is fun.  Logically I should not waste more money, but knowing myself I will get - what it looks like either a violin or expert.  Would someone compare the 2 in turns of speed, spin, short ball control, and ease of placement.

Piligrim,  I will PM you if I eventually evolve towards the V+.

I know it's not on your list, but if you don't want to change too much then the original hk is your best bet. Between the expert and the violin I would pick the expert, as it's easier to play with and can match any rubbers. The violin is a good blade but a bit picky on rubbers, I don't like soft rubber with it, but some do, so you may have to try different rubbers to see what matches for you.

mhn: thinking outside of the box - interesting. would the HK be measurably more flexible than the 655?

Yes, a little, mostly on hard short. On medium power, it gives you more feel and control, and I think it benefit most of club players more than the 655,
