Are there really banned production blades from known brands such as Butterfly?

What are the usual reasons why a certain model of branded blade is banned?
Blade: Rosewood NCT V
FH: Dignics 05 Black
BH: Moristo SP Red

The kreanga was banned because it didn't follow ITTF rules about grain of surface of wood being visible and touchable.  An amazing oversight.

Was it actually banned though, or simply removed or discontinued, just like they do all the time?

More specifically, once Butterfly realized that nobody would be able to use it in any sanctioned competition -- because probably it had been disallowed a few times -- Butterfly discontinued it from the market and replaced it with the Ishlion.  This happened not very long at all after it was introduced, so it was pretty obvious that this was not their long term plan.

I hit with one once.  I personally thought it was an awful blade.  Believe it or not, it belonged to our current national champion (right around the time he was starting to get really serious about TT).  He had it for about three weeks and then realized he would need to switch to something else.

Also, I used to give the blade a try for stifness. This is the way to see if blade is legal.

Blade's inner disorders can not be controlled by umpire.
There is yet no "black list" of   blade brand.
What is the "stifness" test you use? Is such a test legal?

Would a man like Igor care about such a thing?  As an umpire he is empowered

I think he should debar players if they don't crisis-cross block at least once in a game.
