Suggested format:
-How many hours you play per week on average
-Level or USATT rating
-How many years you have been playing for
-How your time is split (routines, match play, multiball, serve practice, just playing for fun with no structure or physical training).

- Train 0 hours a week now, play maybe 2 to 3 hours a week
- USATT - i'm 0 too
- I have been playing for 23 years or so
- 99% of my time is coaching - around 15 hours a week.

I play 8 to 12 hours a week. I spend 8-10 hours doing drills and 2-4 hours of friendly matchplay, in the season I also play leaque matches and tournaments.
I've been playing for 12 years.

I play about 15-20 hours a week. I don't do drills anymore. (that will change next season as I'll be doing about an extra 2h a week doing drills) About 8 hours a week friendly matchplay. Another 8 hours a week competitive matches. About 1-1.5h a week coaching.

Since I'm in Belgium I don't have a USATT rating (I estimate to be 2000+)
I've been playing for about 12-13 years.

Interesting how many people spend very little time doing routines. Do you think you can improve faster doing practice matches, do you find it more fun or why do you mainly do friendly matches over drills

Murray: The reason that I don't play drills anymore is that I play in 2 clubs. In 1 club I'm the highest ranked. There's only 1 person who can consistently play rallies against me. If I play friendly games in that club I usually focus myself on 1 specific aspect (e.g. receiving all short serves with a backhand flick or running around my BH corner more) This allows me to test some stuff out if I'm capable of doing them in serious match play.

In the 2nd club I will start doing drills next season because I firmly believe that no matter what level you are, you can still benefit heavily from drills (Consistency, footwork etc.) However I only joined that club this year so I didn't get any chance to go to a training session there. The level there is also higher than in my first club so I'll be able to get decent sessions going on there.

"I firmly believe that no matter what level you are, you can still benefit heavily from drills"
That sentence suggests that, that is a surprising belief, and one that is not shared by everyone?

I thought that for anyone, intermediate to profesionsal, about 70% of time on drills would result in the fastest imrpovement rate? Is this not the case for players over 2000 or over 2500 etc

You have much to learn young Murray. The fastest improvement rate can be achieved by upgrading your equipment. Ermm

I know that faster equipment will make me better, I don't need to come here to figure that out

What happens when you reach something like a Butterfly Boll Tricarbon?
And im sure if i went any faster i would infact become worse, losing all consistancy. I already feel like my technique suffers due to equipment being so fast so how could i benefit from even more speed? :/

i replied to your tenergy topic twice without even realising. Just when you said younger I checked your profile, saw your location and full name.

Can't imagine theres many people using innerforce AL so that's pretty distinctive

I never knew you were using 80fx though,  would of asked for a try if I knew haha. How much did you pay for it and how do you think it compares to standard T80,  which I use on BH

I just played about 10 hours this past weekend.  So I'd say between 15-20 hours a week for me.

Always depends on my work schedule.  If I'm on vacation or something I can play 6 days a week at 3 different clubs(25 hours).
