Thanks! Lots of good info in the article.
Unfortunately, when buying online, a lot of times you still can't tell if what you're buying is real or not until it's too late. I guess if the price is too good, chances are it's a fake. I've also discovered that, at least on AliExpress, if you ask the seller if the product is genuine/original, they will tell you. |

butterfly is the worst company to deal with via email.I've written to them many times,and so has others,but they do not even acknowledge your email,leave alone reply.

I actually take a liking to the emblem of the knockoff. The texture gives the text that embossed feel.

Thank you for the article, this will help others how to spot counterfeits. I saw on Aliexpress yesterday that a Mizutani Super ZLC was selling for $22ish with free shipping. I wonder how many naive buyers fell for that...

reminds me of the time i bought open pkg pokemon cards in chinatown nyc thinking what a great deal. for $3, it was a fair deal having my lil bro be excited, then laugh that they were fake lol

Yeah, I remember buying fake pokemon cards from Chinatown. Whatever you buy, stay away from Chinatown because majority of them are fake.

More two things I think have to concerned about fake blade are blade's wing and headsize. Fake one have longer blade's wing through the handle and bigger headsize that easily noticed.

You see that it doesn't show you the real peice of Zhang Jike blade.It has only photos of an advertising of the Zhang Jike blade.At this price, my opinion is that it is 101% fake.You can only find a used one in this price.

I just had my 2 new butterfly blades verified by butterflyonline.com w/ serial codes. And they replied back to me the very next day saying mine are authentic. I've dealt with them in the past but never had issues with them.
Just my humble opinion. |

Is the a section you can check your blade serial number? or you have to email them?
i've seen the fake ZJK & JM super ZLC for less than $30. They already made those. Man, these people are imitating so fast now aday!  Edited by acid - 11/15/2014 at 3:56pm |

You have to e-mail butterflyonline.com to verify unlike DHS where you can verify it online.

I believe that aliexpress is one if the main reasons that butterfly does not allow their dealers to ship international.
