Why would you buy a banned rubber?
ITTF announced they are banning all the rubbers which give players "unfair advantage" which clearly covers all rubbers more expensive than 5 dollars (unfair advantage to the sponsored players and to players from affluent countries), and rubbers with catapult effect (unfair advantage to players who are physically fit to be able to trigger the aforementioned catapult). Long overdue ruling, I say! |

Ittf has decided to ban the Seamed/Seamless Poly ball and go back to Celluloid balls as of April 1st. This would have been a good one too....

Actually, it would be a real joke if this one was true. Wait, maybe it is.

Amen and hallelujah! The first sensible thing the ITTF has done in, oh about 89 years. Why should sponsored players, players from affluent countries, and players whose government subsidizes sport have all the fun? No longer will players have to trigger the aforementioned catapult. This might even bring back defense (remember that?). Five bucks for a sheet of TT rubber sounds about right. And yeah, that ruling is about 56 years overdue. Yippie yi yo ki yay! (southwestern equivalent of an emoticon expressing both joy and relief) |

I know, NoRema. This was just an April Fools' joke on JimT's part. Still, re Pondus' post, Tenergy for $19.95, even if it's for only one day through Paddle Palace doesn't sound half bad. $69.95 here, $69.95 there; pretty soon you're talking real money.
