Has anyone played Stiga Calibra Sound with plastic ball ?
It was a decent b/h rubber during the celluloid ball era. |

I'm testing Clipper CR with boosted Calibra LT Spin now, and so far I really like it. Much better grip than unboosted, and very nice click spin and feel. Also the speed is excellent. I think with Calibra Sound you can get similar results with boosting.

It's still a a good rubber. However, with plastic balls, its durability is even lower than with C-balls.....

I use it on my Donic Ovtcharov Senso blade and I haven't noticed much difference.

With the plastic ball, my experience is that u need rubbers with a very grippy topsheet to spin the ball properly. Rubbers that don't have a very grippy topsheet but rely more on mechanical spin are less effective with the plastic ball since spinning the ball is harder than before. Booster provides a little better grip though! Edited by Skyline - 11/09/2015 at 5:16pm |

Kinda agree with Skyline and adds that firmer rubbers or faster/harder blades are being used since the start of the polyball era. The really soft rubbers also gets worn out so much quicker now then with the good old ball I have slowly changed from Tenergy 05 and Calibra LT Spin to Astro M and Airoc S or maybe soon Astro S. Better grip, a bit firmer and made for the polyball, if you havn't tried then you should. PM me
