This appears to be some kind of team or league championship. Exactly what national championship is it? In the first match one player has a (25) after his name and the other (17). Is this their national ranking (ie they are the 17th and 25th best men's players in England) or is it just their ranking in a certain league system. Mark

There are several events - men's singles, women's singles, etc and what you saw - men's team.
here is a full list of events and their draws: http://tabletennisengland.co.uk/news/national-championships-draw-is-revealed/ Not sure what 17 and 25 are. They don't seem to match the national senior men's ranking nor the seeding for the men's singles. Most likely, it is simply the player's entry number. |

I guess Darius Knight has retired from table tennis......havent heard anything about him ever since they dissed him at the 2012 Olympics by not selecting him to the team despite his ranking.

Semi finals are live at the moment. 16 year old Tom Jarvis just put on a good performance against Drinkhall, Sam Walker v Pitchford coming later after the first women's semi.

The final is impressive. I had a conversation with someone saying how TT in the U.S. is more on the rise than TT in the UK but after seeing this final and the crowd I think it's safe to say that the UK is more so on the right track.

They do seem to be on the rise; I just wish that their players would tone down the cho'ing somewhat.

Hi. I've attended the championships in person, and managed to record two of the semi-finals and finals from a side view. Apologies for an occasionally shaking camera.

Hi, I believe the numbers are the relative seeding of each player - there are 32 players overall, it isn't necessarily their ranking as I think some players may have dropped out, but it's pretty close. |
