Hello everyone.
I used to play with a donic exclusive AR blade with 2.2mm lkt rapid speed rubber on FH and 2.2mm lkt rapid sound on BH. Last year i changed my blade to donic waldner senso carbon with the same rubber as my donic exclusive AR. I found that i cannot play with the WSC because i am not comfortable with it. It is bouncy, fast and i do not like the feel of carbon blade. Recently i bought a joola viking which is a 7 ply allwood blade. My question...will it be too big of a difference to switch from a 5 ply wood to 7 ply wood blade? I have not bought rubbers for my joola viking yet. I would like to ask your opinion and advice about this matter. Thanks in prior. |

Why are you asking if it's a good idea to try a blade after you've already bought it? You've already dropped money on a new blade, so just slap some old rubbers on it and give it a test drive. IMO, nothing can give you more authentic feedback than your own hands.
But the WSC is a relatively tame carbon blade. The WSC is thin, while most 7-ply blades are thick (I'm assuming that the JOOLA Viking is also a thick 7-ply) so your 7-ply will most likely be stiffer than the WSC (and therefore stiffer than your original 5-ply). So IMO, if you are uncomfortable with the WSC you will probably be uncomfortable with the Viking as well. But I am not you. Who knows; you might like it, you might not. I can't tell you what's the best for you, because you have to find that out for yourself.
