Hi,
I'm interested in bringing a Chinese coach to America. He can't get a student visa because he was here on one of those previously, so I have to consider getting him a coaching visa. Does anyone have experience with this that they can share? Thanks, Ben

I read the article, but with so much technical information and so little explanation, it doesn't provide much guidance. The places where athletes are mentioned emphasize exception performance rather than coaching.
Anyone have more insight or first-hand experience?

You might want to give a local immigration lawyer a call. Short consultation might be free - of course their services if you decide to hire them won't be, but at least they might explain your options.

Exactly. My guess is that optimally, you would use an H1B if the job was good enough but the challenge is how long he would have to wait. So in the end, you need a lawyer. |

just pay plane ticket and have him illegal.
when he is done he leaves. won't be able to come back but he probably will not want to after living there.

another option would be buying something large and somehow sending the coach inside the shipment package. |

I think he's just trying to be funny. And, apparently, failing. Still, no harm done. A lawyer would be an option, but I know that various clubs around the country have done this before, so I was hoping to find someone with experience.

all I'm saying is it's easier to get him a visa once he is in the hood.
