Watch the match and decide. It's a pity he doesn't get to play much outside China.

Joo Sae-Hyuk must think he is going down the rabbit hole. He is playing against a younger version of himself

On the discussion of up-and-coming Chinese penholders, I'm personally more impressed with Zheng Peifeng than with Fan Shengeng (see video below for a match from today).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSrxeROIaCY However, I don't think either of them will end up being one of the 3-4 main players on the Chinese team at any point in time. Hope I'm wrong!

I am RPB player, but when watch the original match, (I didnt even know who is Fan or Won), but how fast the points are !!!, the spectator dont have chance to enjoy the points !!, I know it is a very common theme since many years, I also dont have chance to watch many matches, but this was really fast. Maybe limiting rubber thickness, or raising the net but something have to do about it.

As expected Wong Ct got destroyed by Lin Gaoyuan 3:0 in the CTTSL today.
Lin has a much lower ittf ranking than wong. Ittf ranking is really distorted and is not a true reflection of players' true ability. |

This is ruefully. After all, Dyjas beat Dima and Lebesson beat Freitas and Gauzy and Dyjas. Those ittf rankings are just silly. |

How many times do people need to talk about that ITTF rankings are distorted based on a couple of games? You do not say that it is easy to win a super lottery because someone won one before. Most CNT members are obviously underanked in the ITTF system (and many not ranked at all).

Any 2nd and 3rd team chinese player and former national players (eg: hao shuai and xu hui) would start a match as a favourite against any player from the rest the world ~ with the exceptions of joo, dima, timo and samsonov. |

Jack must we honestly get a post with an "I told you so" every time WCT loses a match?
I don't see you bumping threads every time he wins. Seriously this topic is so old by now. Let it go man. I don't think anybody else here cares 1/2 as much about WTC, either in liking him or disliking him as much as you do. You have an almost unhealthy obsession with this guy going on.

It has gotta be unrequited love. I suspect he must've confessed to WCT at one point and got rejected because WCT told him he valued his career more than him.

Lin Gaoyuan has worked hard and improved a lot as he came into the senior ranks. You can tell from the recent Olympic trials and Olympic warm-up competitions he is among the very best in China. China clearly feels he is worth investing in; 3 times world junior championship runner up, and he has been sent to the WJTTC at least 4 times.

And have you guys noticed how Yu Ziyang has developed an incredible backhand? He had an amazing over the table forehand as a junior.
China can afford to let junior players work hard and develop at home, rather than Pro Tour them as soon as possible. The current crop of stars are doing so well, they don't need to deploy those juniors right away.
