Hi Everybody,

I'm a new member at this great forum. I would like to get your opinion about

sportcraft tables for home use. What do you think of these tables?

They seem to have laminated surfaces. I read that on the some of sellers sites.

Is that a good thing for a ping pong table to have a laminated surface. The tables I'm talking about are

the Piston and the Marquis tables.

They are good for the money. And if you do not plan on playing in tournaments it is ok. The edges are taped on and not painted on. The construction is just as good if not better than the very expensive stigas. The top just doesn't bounce as well as professional ones do. Laminated surface is not better than matte finishes.

Hi ppplayer.

I almost bought the Marquis by Sportcraft.  It is solid as a tank and does have a one inch top.  The laminated surface is where they save money.  Will you notice the difference if you aren't a great player?  That's impossible to say. But, it was enough for me to stay away from it.  I just wanted a wood top.

I do know that costco has the Marquis for $370 DELIVERED.  You have to be a member but that won't cost much.

Good luck!

Thanks for your feedback guys. I will stay away from buying laminate surface tables.
